How to Make a Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake | Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake Recipe

Hi Friends,
In today's video, I show you how to make a Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake! I have been seeing cookie cakes pop up all over my Instagram and Pinterest so it looks like they are making a comeback! I haven't had a cookie cake since High School, so I am ecstatic we are making these again. I LOVEEEEEED the Mrs. Fields cookie cakes because they were so soft and chewy. So, this recipe recreates that same texture, because a yummy cookie is meant to be soft and chewy no? This recipe is actually quite easy and perfect for your next occasion. See the recipe below!
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup melted butter, unsalted and cooled to room temp
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 1/3 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 3/4 cups milk chocolate chips
1 can store bought vanilla frosting (you can make this yourself as well!)
Rainbow sprinkles
Cooking spray
INSTRUCTIONS
PREHEAT Oven to 350F
1. In a bowl, combine the butter, white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and egg. Mix until combined
2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt and baking soda
3. Combine the butter mixture and flour mixture together
4. Fold together until all dry ingredients have mixed in thoroughly
5. Fold in 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips into the cookie dough
6. Set cookie dough aside and prep an 8inch cake tin with cooking spray
7. Place cookie dough into greased pan and press evenly into pan
8. Top with more chocolate chips
9. Bake at 350F for 25-30 mins
10. Out of the oven, cool the cookie cake until it's cool to the touch. Approximately 30 minutes
11. Flip cookie onto a serving plate (flip twice so it becomes right side up)
12. Pipe a border of frosting around your cookie - in this video, I'm using a Wilton 2D tip
13. Add some rainbow sprinkles on your cookie cake and enjoy!
Optional: pipe a message in the centre of your cookie cake!

Hi Deby, thank you! Yes, the sugar can be replaced, however I wouldn’t recommend it as brown sugar helps the cookie cake become nice and chewy. All granulated sugar will make the cookie cake more on the crispy side 😊
