I was thrilled when I saw this video! I made this bear once last year for a sister of mine. Well I wanted to make another one but I remembered struggling so much trying to figure out the pattern and such. I watched this video over and over several times. Then this week I made the bear as I followed along with you. Thank you thank you! It was so much easier this round. I knew I over complicated things last time. You are a wonderful instructor and your voice is pleasant to listen to, I find myself relaxed listening. Because I posted a picture of the bear I just made, with your help, I now have 7 orders for bears! Wow! Those are confirmed orders too! There may be more. Plus I need to sneak my grandkids bears in there somehow before Christmas too! Thank you again for your great tutorials!

Whew! As a beginner this project was a little tricky in parts - like attaching the bottom ovals to the feet and attaching the head - but I persevered and am mostly pleased with how it turned out. Thank you for the tutorial as a the written pattern was a little confusing sometimes to me. Love your channel!🥰

Gosh! This Bear is so d a r n cute! I think the red fabric caught my eye. I love bright colors. Orange being my favorite. Thanks for sharing this pattern with us. Off the subject. But do you happen to have a Pattern for a Black and White Tuxedo Cat That you like? My husband loves our Tuxedo Cat. I think it would be neat to make him a black and white cat. But, I also think a Tuxedo Cat would be really cute in Christmas colors. Again thank you so much for your sewing tips and tricks. I really enjoy watching your projects coming together.

You nailed it again, Girlfriend! Great tutorial. When I make dolls(I'm crocheting a bear for a newborn) for little ones, I embroider the features including the eyes. That way there are no small pieces that can be pulled off. I love the red bear - So cheerful. Happy Thanksgiving with the grand baby!

Are the notches and circles on the pattern transferred onto the fabric by a marker?

Hi Martha. I liked to use a fabric marker to mark all the circles and triangles. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍

I've got that pattern and have made a few. Do you have tips for attaching the head to the body and the soles to the legs? I always seem to have extra fabric to work in no matter how careful I am to make sure the fabric markings line up. Also, do you leave the seams open on the ends or do you completely sew them to the end of fabric? When I stop short on the marks on the pattern I have a mess when I try to sew the soles and head on.
@TheSewingRoomChannel3 жыл бұрын
I Widgets Mom. I know these plush toys are very trickey to put together. Mine don't always match up. Always take extra time cutting the pattern pieces so that they are accurately cut. Also, make sure your seam width is very accurate. Too small stitch length can cause the fabric to pull in tight making the fabric shrink in length. When attaching a piece of fabric in an area that is too small do a basting stitch and lightly gather the fabric. Then pin it to the other piece of fabric. As you are pinning, ease the fabric (gather) it to fit in the area. I am working on a tip of the week that address this issue. I hope this helps a little. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍

I use the Make a memory bear pattern method for putting all mine together. So much easier. I have made almost 50 this season so far.
