hi exellent tutorial first class just a few questions what gauge stub wire is best to use for putting on the spruce into moss and will moss from around british woods and streams work thanks
@thecrackedpotuk8 жыл бұрын
Hi Craig, we use 22 swg (standard wire guage) 0.71mm wire. Needs to be thick enough to push into the moss but not to thick that its to hard to wind around the stems. You can use any moss as long as it packs solid enough to build a firm base to hold the wires in place. Hope that helps....good luck. Would love to see a pic of your finishes wreath, Louise

You two sparkling ladies make it look easy but I would be stumped at the first hurdle. Any chance for a workshop one morning where you supply all the materials and we pay a flat fee to make a Christmas door wreath? All of a sudden I want one... - from Carlene at Contactus Ealing

Love your style (champagne, sparkle, LOL!) I was thinking that, instead of the plastic wrap (always looking for shortcuts for those of us who are a bit impatient), couldn't a spray fixative be used instead? Like a lacquer type spray? Thanks for sharing!
@thecrackedpotuk7 жыл бұрын
Hi Chalice, the plastic wrap is to protect the surface of the door you hang it on as much as to keep the moss in but you can always give it a go and let me know how you get on

love your wreath, but could i use an oasis wreath instead.... will it look any different? would it last longer?
@thecrackedpotuk8 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use an oasis ring if it's easier for you. It will be a lot heavier but you can use fresh flowers and the non evergreen foliage will last a bit longer but you will have to keep the oasis wet. You also wont need to use any wires. Just push the stems directly into the oasis. Just lay it flat every so often and poor a jug of water through the gaps. Good luck

I've watched your video and have just put wreath rings together now to save time later on will they be ok? Do I need to moisten them at time of making up with greenery?
@thecrackedpotuk8 жыл бұрын
Hi Lindsey, sorry for the delay in replying. You can give them a spray a few times before you make them and keep them in a cool place. Will make it easier to work with but won make any difference to the greenery really. Good luck
@josephineamos3139 жыл бұрын
Hi How far in advance can I make the wreath using the fresh materials.Excellent video
@thecrackedpotuk9 жыл бұрын
+Natalie Spencer Hi Natalie, sorry for the tardy response. It really does depend on the foliages you use. Spruce should be fine from end of Nov through to New year. Apples can rot if you use them too far in advance but you can always add things to your wreath as the month goes on and even add fresh flowers like red roses on the last days to brighten it up

The moss,floral sticks, small bits of wire, and plastic aren't needed. I've never seen anyone make all these extra steps for a wreath . All that extra waste. It's pretty just unnecessary waste and time.
