Thanks for the thorough demo. I imagine that if you used a plasticizer/water reducer and a lot less water, you could make the pots much thinner and stronger.

I mix my sand with a bit of bentonite. It’s a powdered clay that we use when priming concrete pumps and I think it’s used for drilling wells also. About a 10 to 1 ratio. You can use less water and it holds together very well. Very little slumping or crumbling too. I recycle my sand after using it to make large garden pots, keeping it in 5 gallon buckets in between projects.

Interesting and it would be fun to try one of these for myself. Thank you for the instruction. The next time you make a pot video can you show the bags of material you used I'd like to see that. I'm in Atlantic Canada too so I could probably get the same type of material at my local building supply.

I just use general use Portland from castle building supplies any sand will work has been a cheap way to make pots thanks for watching

i heard you say you been making cabinets for a long time. ever think of making really nice wooden pots? bet with your skills at wood work you could get pretty fancy with it
