I just made a belt in this style. I used 88' of paracord and I wear a 30 waist. It took an eternity especially in the beginning while pulling a full 100' for every knot. I started a few months ago (hour or two here and there) and finally finished last night. Looks amazing and a great time killer. Thanks Tim! From one Canadian to the next!

What did you use for hardware on the belt?

@@SA-fx4id Cool. Thanks for replying. I made my first two little 5-loop Conquistador key fobs last night. I have to say, both this tutorial and another one I tried before this were really quite vague. WoE tutorials are usually better than this one was. It was a little frustrating at first when I was figuring out which way to be looping the cord; but once I did, I realized how EASY this pattern is. I don’t understand all the people who have difficulty with it. But also, once I realized how easy it was, I realized as well that the explanation could have been made much more clear. Still, I’m thankful for the efforts of WoE.

I'm working on a 6-loop version for a collar for my Great Dane. This makes a beautiful collar, my 3rd one for her, and it gets loads of compliments every where we go. Others want me to make/sell them one, but honestly, as many hours that go into crafting a 25 inch collar; they become priceless. Love them👍🏼
@TheWeaversofEternity11 ай бұрын
Awesome! And yes, I could only imagine how long it takes to make a 25 inch collar. A simple bracelet is time consuming enough!
@DogsBestFriend143Ай бұрын
I've made several for my APBT, and they look great on him. I gifted a few to friends and family. Their neck measurements need to be accurate, or the collar will be uselss/dangerous. Be sure to use reliable buckles. The conquistador pattern is definitely an eye catcher. If someone asks me to make them a collor, I ask them to make a donation to my dog food fund. I spend about $250 a month on dog food. A 20-inch collar takes me around 5 hours to make. The pattern moves faster the shorter the strand gets.
@nancymoore8250Ай бұрын
@@DogsBestFriend143 … I put mine on a martingale chain. More reliable and somewhat escape proof.
@DogsBestFriend143Ай бұрын
@@nancymoore8250 I've gotta try that. Didn't think to use the martingale setup. I have a few nylon martingale collars and I love the design. Security is important when you have a breed that makes the news every week. I use the AustriAlpin Cobra buckles with D ring in 1-inch and 1.75-inch. I like the tacticool look they add to the conquistador pattern. I will definitely make myself a martingale version this week. Thanks, Nancy.

Thanks for the tutorial, i will definately try this one soon. Not sure which colour though... Just a little trick i do is in stead of using the hemostats i push the fid through untill only the back end sticks out, then simply press the paracord against it and turn the fid between your fingers. This way the loops will stay even. Inuse this method for a variety of weaves,.

How do you keep from getting the cord tangled? You seem to pull it and its straight. With such a long amount of cord when I pull it it seems to be rotated a bunch of times so when I go for the last pull I have to twist the cord over and over to get it straight.
