Wow! What rock have i been under?!?!? I have never thought about warming the styrene with a lighter and bend it! I have always cut and glued the pieces together..now i just have to make a chassie with this method! Thank you for the tutorial!

Just a thought. A couple of screws in the table or a Small piece of wood if you didn't want to put holes in your table , may help bending it. May could use different size screws for sharper or larger bends. I use this technique bending steel with a torch!

Thanks for showing us your techniques. I have been looking for a way to build custom chassis but have yet to find one I really like. Now you show me not one but two ways I like. I will be using both to see which one I favor most, so somewhere in the US of A there will be a version of your chassis design/style in use. This is why I love KZbin!

We use this technique all the time the Ben still at the Fab shop I work at as a fabricator for making big industrial catwalks and stuff for plants and the handrails that you see we build those in whole sections and I build every single beam that is used and clip that goes on the beam that's used for building plants it's pretty cool I've been a fitter and fabricator since I was 18 and I'm 30 and I use a torch and I will clips to my big long 50 ft by 10 ft wide fabricating table and I use little metal clips cut from pieces of angle just tack while it's my metal table to bend my flat bar whatever I need to bend by hand real quick with a torch and also I build race cars to my whole life circle track so a lot of this stuff you do is stirring it's kind of the same principle as you would with a real race car building roll cages and frames it's just in smaller scale with plastic that's it but lining your roll cage up with the body and everything same principle. So putting screws are a small piece of wood or something in your table like someone else mentioned would work perfect for bending and you get sharper bends that's what we do is steal and I've done it with stirring for making my frames and roll cage then it works perfect you get nice Chris sharp bins and they're exactly in the same spot you want to put them every time there's no guess working if you're putting your thumb in the right place to bend it or not

I prefer underslong chassis where the rear insects on top of your chassis because you can put his big tires as you want on it and I have such a big angle on the rear of the car like you do for putting the rear end under the chassis instead to raise the rear end up that's just my personal preference if you got your chassis going under the rear end and it's kind of flat but you still curve it just a little bit I'll set it down and under the rear end a little bit instead of up real high over the rear in that way you can put big tires you want on it and any tires you want on it without having to modify it more if you want a bigger tire later on in the build

Hey I just found your channel. Cool content. I love your chassis tutorial. Thumbs up. We share the same hobby. I just started a new channel doing makeovers too. Mostly 1:64 stuff. I'm always looking for ideas, tips and tricks to improve my content. I've just subscribed to your channel. Be safe, buddy. Greetings from Switzerland.

Old lightning holes in a frame that's too funny that's the weakest points right there and would bend in a real car but looks good but not practical in a real hot rod that's used for any type of high performance drag race or anything it would abandon crumpling a heartbeat but for a show car it's fine because you're not going to be driving it very fast or hard anyways I would never drill holes in any type of chassis in real life but it's just a model car and thanks for sharing your techniques I learned a little bit from everybody's techniques and put all together to form my own technique of billing chassis so I learned a couple tricks from you thank you of building model car chassis could you please do a video on how you built that floor paint or at least show it up close to me that's pretty nice and that's very good work actually fabricating that floor pan with the transmission to all the way you did that's pretty cool and that van that is too cool too bad it's taking you a couple years to get that far but that's pretty nice man that's good scratch building work I like it and I like the subframe you built instead of full frame car it's a subframe chassis which is pretty cool and the working suspension is pretty cool too nice work and I can only imagine how long it took you just to build that chassis if it's taking you a couple years to build where you're at with that van right now that's a lot of work even doing that body by scratch waving at chassis by scratch without the bodies a lot of work so I don't feel bad it's taking me 6 months to get just a frame and a suspension in a custom hot rod I'm building out of styrene pieces from evergreen takes forever to build these chassis and small scale
