How to Make a Cutting Board. Antique Style Chopping Board. I love a Vintage Style Cutting Board that can also double as a cheese board or even a pizza server. Cutting boards come in all shapes and sizes and really is up to your own imagination as to how you want your cutting board/cheese board to look. The cutting board l make in this video is just made from scrap wood that l found in a Junk Yard. Check it out and let me know what you think.

a tip i read about cutting holes out with a holesaw was to drill a couple of pilot holes just inside the circumference of the hole you are cutting and this helps for the wood shavings to fall through the hole and keep the blade a bit cooler and better visibility. havent tired it yet. Love the boards - very useful and great idea

Love the cutting board... to prevent/reduce blowout from drills and circular drills an easy trick is to simply clamp on a scrap piece of wood on the back. Anyways great work and I look forward to seeing more work of yours.

Really liked the simplicity and function, plus call out for food safe oil. But, the cracks in the wood will hold food, oils and bacteria. Which is why restaurants use solid materials. Just a FYI

Great video!!!!! looking forward to trying this except to color mine instead of using fire I will "Fume" it with ammonia; just saw a bunch of videos on it and its a pretty easy set up. let you all know how it works out. Oh yeah Fuming only works on wood species that have tannins most common hardwoods have them.

You splashed out on the Oil Shane, Olive Oil would have done the trick. I go a little more up market and put Grape Seed Oil on mine but that would probable compared for price with the 'Butchers' oil, although you do get 750mls

Yeah it was a little more than l expected to pay but it worked really well. I haven't heard about the grape seed oil but l'll look into it. I was thinking about using olive oil but after a lot of research l found out that there is a chance that it could go rancid. Have a good one mate and thanks for watching :-)

You can also mix the oil with beeswax 4 oil to 1 beeswax. You coat the boards with the oil and let it soak in, Then get you Mixed Beeswax and oil ( it will if mixed right, be like a paste) and then coat it with the mix and BUFF it in with a cloth or paper towel :) Just a Bush Shed Tip :P
