I’m just getting started in this woodworking stuff in an attempt to reinvent myself in retirement. Your personality/Aussie has been the shot in the arm in my confidence to get moving. At 63 years old, it’s been a long time since high school wood shop. Couple that aspect with the expensive tools needed, it seemed daunting. Your testament is proofing me wrong. I’m really happy to find that your beginners list won’t break the bank. One more thing - I also have a bit of comradeship with your surfing background, Nat Young comes to mind, as I’m a California transplant living in North Carolina now. Thanks man, you are appreciated 🏄🏼♀️

I've got a little garage under my main roof I keep my car in, but I'm trying to work out a way so I can use it as a workshop when I want to, then pack things up and put the car back in again. hopefully will get that sorted in the next few months. I use Bosch tools, after lsing all my gear, too long to go into, I slowly built my collection back up again and decided Bosch was going to be my power tools of choice. you do pay a wee bit more but its worth it. enjoying watching all your videos and getting ideas for things I can do too. 🙂

Started 3 years ago with just a hacksaw and a cordless drill. Made a lot of things. Still don't have any table saw ,router, sander etc. For any newbie I'd recommend them to start with hand tools. Slowly buy things only as you need them. Though I'd say a good drill is a must. You can have every other tool manual but drill should be a cordless one.

@@diyforknuckleheads Hi mate sorry for the late reply, i don't live near London so off the top of my head, you have the obvious being Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, Madam Tussaud Wax Museum, the London Eye that's the big wheel you can go on and see the skyline views, there is a London Bus Tour that's on an open top bus, and you get to travel around sightseeing with a travel guide explaining everything. Like i said i don't live in that part of the UK so i can't really help you out except what i have just said. I'm mostly on 18v Makita for cordless tools that I tend to move around with a lot like drill/drivers, planer, SDS drill, multitool etc but for corded tools like my mitre saw, orbital sander, and sheet sander, I'm using Ryobi. I have a DeWalt table saw, and an Ozito track saw. I'm using 18v hikoki framing and finish nail guns, and a Milwaukee 18v trim router. I use battery adaptors to allow me to use Makita batteries with hikoki and Milwaukee cordless tools. It's a bit of extra bulk but it works for me. Basically, buy the best tool for the job based on your budget and don't be afraid to mix and match.

3 years since you did the house, man that flew by. I see your designer bird house still up there.

I know mate...it's mental!! I can't believe it myself and yeah the 'Penthouse' hasn't fallen out of the tree yet ...😂😂 It did come tumbling down a year or so ago though when one of my little fellas friends came over for a play, climbed that tree and used the birdhouse as a STEP!! Luckily it withstood the impact as it hit the ground!! 👊👊 Thanks for watching 👍😁

It is really nice and enjoyable to see your whole work station. Just enjoyed this video. It's really nice to see your first project as well I m recently started some wood working out of interest and I have built 2 Racks and one big cupboard for my house. But I have only jigsaw, handsaw and a drill Machine to work 😅 But slowly will add more power tools in future 😃

Thank you very much Siddesh! You've done really to build those with things with only the few tools you have 👍👍 Good luck with your future projects 👍😃🇦🇺

Good stuff Shane, I'm a great believer in the K.I.S.S. method also although I do own a few 'luxury' power tools.

Good video Shane. I’m a bit behind on your content but have been following since the early days. I’ve got all the basic hand tools + a second hand triton 2000 bench I put a new hitachi saw in, but struggle to make diy fun time lately with work and our own reno projects. Maybe catching up on you will inspire me to make time.

G'day Paul...no worries mate...these things take time 👍👊 Hope the Reno is on track and looking great! Thanks for watching 👍😁
