Homie, I know you only started uploading a week ago, but your channel is quickly becoming my go to for creating SICK NASTY synth sounds in Vital. Love that you start every video with a preview of the sound followed by no nonsense to the point explanation of how to set it up. I make sure I watched every video you upload. The value you're providing is tremendous. I'm gonna go ahead and request Golden Features type sound deconstruction in Vital please :-).

Your videos are amazing. I have NO IDEA what I'm doing when it comes to sound design, and just following along with your videos is super helpful. Have you ever thought about making videos where you explain your decisions (aka the why behind each decision in your tutorials)? Or even just basic sound design tutorials where you're not just showing how to make certain sounds but actually explaining the fundamentals and basics? Could be really useful for beginners (including me :) ) to start teaching themselves how to do their own synthesis/sound design. Kudos though, you're awesome.

Amazing sound. Got any ideas on how to recreate the "Combs" and "Reverb" filter sound from Serum in vital? Or do you know if Matt will bring this in a future update?
@jazensounds4534 жыл бұрын
You kind of get what you get with filters- the best you could do is try combining a couple. I’d assume more filters are on the way in future updates, but for now I’m sure there are more important features on the list.

its very apparent that you have a deep understanding of synthesis, I assume that you have some kind of formal or informal training. Do you have any resources that you recommend for someone who wants to study synthesis to get a better grasp of the basics? additive/subtractive syntheis etc.

Nice dude! I was baffled by how to set up the macros till I watched this. are the ms times set to a specific bpm or key or just by ear?
@colatoxic44093 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the very cool tutorial, the sound is really nice and as rookie I learn a lot about sound design. So in the end of the video, I see you modulate a lot of stuff to macro. So by instinct, I assume a good way to put good use at that would be create an automation clip to further control those macro, to create something like a cutoff-increasing-build-up-sound. but when I try this on a FL studio, I found that using tool > last tweaked > create automation clip is not working for the my project. I did made an automation clip, but seem that the clip didn't control the value of macro at all; no matter how I chance the line on the automation clip, the value stay constant and did not move at all. It seems like it some how lock at a same value since even I manual tweak the value, when I play the clip, it back to the lock value again. I have no idea if I mess up any thing at the process, so i went online and read online discussion about FL studio don't support automating third party plug-in, if that is the case here, is that any way to achieved similar effect on Vital of FLstudio? or could be I just did something wrong?
@jazensounds4533 жыл бұрын
I use FL too and never had issues using the last tweaked parameter option to do automations. Not sure why you are having problems, I'd delete the automation clip and try again.

@@jazensounds453 a tutorial on how to route those macros to automation in FL would be sweet too, as well as different methods of using them in context of a groove.

I'm just starting out and it seems like an impossible mountain to climb. It's hard to fathom someone sitting there and thinking, "The chorus in this bass needs the cutoff to be around...idunno...107.3. Yeah, that sounds good." I guess I'll just keep plugging along. What else am I going to do, right? Good tutorial and nice bass.
@jazensounds4532 жыл бұрын
It looks like I make my sounds that way, but the truth is I just try a bunch of random stuff until it sounds good. I usually have a general idea of the direction I want to go, but I’d say it’s 90% experimentation. When I do these tutorials I’m recreating a patch I’ve already made so it is very linear, but the sounds are almost never originally made like that.
