Great video Arron! I built a 13' square back canoe once out of birch ply and glass and hooked my 2hp Honda four stroke too it and down the river I went! I'm going to use you and your video for my paddle board! We think the same in these regards! Keep it up! Thanks for sharing this!

@@Aaron.deRuiter my 17' Coleman canoe (sloppy hull...) with my Garmin said I did 7mph on the Mississippi River. Didn't have my Garmin (couldn't find it) with my little square back but I'd say it would probably do 9mph. Read in a blog that a guy made a homemade 8' hydroplane boat, and put a 25hp on it! He said it would go 70mph!! Lol That would be exhilarating!

Question for you if you don’t mind. When in the process did you remove the wire stitches? Did you remove them fully? Thanks again!

@@madkartyproductions3154 The wire is rubber coated so I left them in otherwise I would have removed them after glueing in the epoxy fillets. Alternatively, you can use copper wire and leave it in as well.

@@Aaron.deRuiter sure :) Also found the material list and dimenisons in some other comments (might overseen in some video) but usefull info -.- Hey mate, you'll need - 10 metres of 2oz fibreglass cloth, - 4 litres of epoxy resin, - 10 metres of 50mm wide fibreglass tape to glass over the epoxy fillets, - 3 sheets of 3mm plywood, - 10 metres of 10mmx12mm timber and- 500 grams of epoxy thickener. Dimensions: 3888 x 74 mm

Nice. I've been looking at doing this, but have been approaching from building the ribs, then assembling. I like the idea of cutting the ribs to fit the shape after the fact.

It’s not as exact as using pre measured and cut frames but for a home built sup it does the job perfectly.

As beautiful as the finished product is. I couldn't justify the cost. The inflatable ones are pretty good and cheaper. You have some great skills to be able to create that beautiful bored. But I'd just make a mess. Fantastic to watch though. More videos please
