Check out this cheap and easy way to make a customised "scales" texture tool, for polymer clay. I used it in my "Dragon's Eye Pencil Sharpener" tutorial and people asked how I made it. Do watch that tutorial too - the sharpeners are so cute!

After trying to find a mini dragon scale punch and not having success, I decided to see what others were doing to get dragon scales. Viola! Your video! Thank you ever-so-much! I am making my very tiny scale tool! I'm using a folded over aluminum can so I can keep the width. It's in the oven right now! Can't wait to see how it works! Thank you so much!!!!

I believe it was around 8:12 of so but trust me - all admiration, zero pity. You are awesome and deserve much admiration. From the comments I believe it is unanimous. The word nor actual snakes bother me. Years ago I would actually snake-sit for friends. Sausage does not bother me but I cannot consume the nitrates. Noodles of clay appeals to my quirky humorous side, I have always called it making noodles but sometimes that makes me hungry. Seems there are times we cannot win. But your humor makes everything you say totally enjoyable. Keep up the good work.

So glad you shared this. I was using a straw, but my cat kept chewing on it and I'd have to get a new one, and so on. Now I will have a permanent scale maker. And snake is okay with me, well so is sausage! LOL!

1: Your channel name alone made me want to subscribe, but your personality made me actually click it. 2: Because I am a super geeky woman (especially where wordplay is involved) the most common word used in reference to fear of sausages, because as far as I could find it doesn't have a defined word, is cibophobia which is a fear of foods. 3: You're just lovely to watch and so very CLEVER!

I just wanted to thank you soooo much for this video I have not only made a scale tool in 2 different sizes but feather and leaf tools in two sizes as well. I also got a bit adventurous with this procedure and made a perfect replica of my initials in cursive to stamp and sign my pieces. I would like to add that i found it was much sturdier if you use an old aluminum baking sheet to make the tools its much stronger. Thank you again for a very helpful tutorial!!!

When you used the term "sausage" instead of "snake" I could hear the scene from the movie Shrek. It's where the fairy godmother says to shrek, "don't you point those dirty sausages to me". 🤣 Sausages as in his fingers which were pointing toward her face.

I really enjoy your videos. I think your are so funny. If you don't like saying sausage you could say rope of clay. I don't know what being afraid of snakes has to do with polymer clay. You are very talented.

It was just some poor lady who fairly light-heartedly said she didn't like snakes, when I kept saying "roll a snake of clay". She wasn't being off about it but I used to be a stand-up, so I seized on it and I keep joking about it. "Rope" is a good idea - look out for that getting added into future videos! It's just a bit of fun. Thanks for the kind encouragement. xx
