🍛 What is a Fish Masala?
Fish Masala is a quick and easy fried fish recipe. Some people create a curry sauce with their Fish Masala, but we prefer to keep it simple. A delicious, flavourful fried fish served with a fresh salad - perfection!
🔥 Is it spicy?
It’s not too spicy, but it is full of flavour. You can up the spiciness by adding more chilli powder, according to taste.
🛒 Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon of red chilli powder
- ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of fenugreek powder
- 1 tablespoon of cumin powder
- 2 tablespoons of coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 3 heaped tablespoons of chickpea flour
- 4 salmon fillets
- Half a lemon (to squeeze for juice)
- Half a cup of oil
- Salad (we served ours with fresh lettuce and lemon)
📖 Recipe
1) Prepare your dry mix of spices on a large plate or bowl, including: 1 tablespoon of red chili powder, ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of fenugreek powder, 1 tablespoon of cumin powder, 2 tablespoons of coriander powder, 1 teaspoon of salt and 3 heaped tablespoons of chickpea flour.
2) Mix these thoroughly to create your dry mix.
3) Squeeze half a lemon over the 4 salmon fillets, ensuring they are fully soaked.
4) Dip the salmon fillets in the dry mix - make sure you cover the whole fillet.
5) Add ½ cup of oil to the pan and leave it to heat up.
6) Add your salmon to the pan.
7) Fry the salmon for 2-3 minutes on each side at a medium to low heat.
8) Serve on a fresh bed of salad.
