It was that roll foam, I think about 1.4 inch, but 3/8 will also work and be less likely to show that diamond pattern through.

1st... great videos, i love doing things like this for my kids for halloween and you are just a great source to understand what im trying to do. 2nd...on the flame thrower do you hink there would be a way to make it squirt a orange glow in the dark liquid to simulate fire, almost like your nuke cola?. im at the drawing board on how to do this, any ideas would be great

+Madison Senpai The price of paint and foam varies depending on where you live. In canada at home depot a role that size is $23. So depending on where you buy materials and what you already have it would cost between $40-$100. A hair dryer could work but it would take a lot longer.

funny enough i have the same brand of hose sprayer for making mine...(not even kidding it was getting tossed by my nana and i saved it for this project.) what is your best advice for removing the front sprayer cause the front looks very similar to the barrel tips of the troopers blasters on the rebel blockade runner in a new hope... (basically removed the rubber grip on the metal front and it stuck-out like a sore thumb too me) and i wanted too try and work it into a later/earlier model blaster... advice? (btw: sorry for this being so damn long...)

could you go into more detail on the sealant in a video? cos i've been using a school craft glue but it doesn't seem to be working, my foam parts are still really floppy

I realize this comment is 2 years old, but if you or anyone else is still wondering, the sealing with white glue doesn't do much to make the foam rigid. It seals the pores so paint doesn't soak into the foam (which takes forever to dry and may cause bad things later), and it creates a surface most paints will adhere to easily. As far as I know, the best way to make foam semi-rigid is to give it a skeleton of some sort, be it made of cardboard, plastic, wire, etc.

It's the handle part of the sprayer and there's a spigot knob on the bottom of the tanks.

Why make a prop while you can make the real thing. Flamethrowers are insanely easy to make with hoses and pipes, albeit unsafe because of the pressurization of the tanks. But it is fun nonetheless
