How To Make A Fondant or Modelling Chocolate Handbag
I used modelling chocolate in this video but you can use exactly the same principal for a fondant handbag.
I have included some affiliate links for some of the tools I used.
First you want to get your basic shape for your handbag. Take a block of your chocolate or fondant and cut the basic shape using a sharp knife. I then used my hands to narrow and taper the op of the bag before trimming the excess away.
Roll out a piece of chocolate or fondant for the flap and trim to size before using some water or sugar glue to attach to the bag.
Clean up any rough edges using sugar shapers. Sugar shapers are the absolute BEST. Since making this bag I have bought two sets from Sugarworks and my oh my are they perfect! Pretty too!

and the firm set here sweetiedarlingc...
Roll out paste really thinly to cut out decorative strap detail for the bag.
Use a scalpel or craft knife to cut out fine indents in the flap of the bag to fit the decorative straps.
Add stitching using a quilting tool sweetiedarlingc...
Roll a suuuuper thin sausage of paste for the handles, trim to the right length, curve into shape and leave to set. I set mine in the fridge so it was firm but still pliable if I needed to adjust the shape slightly when attaching.
Use some water or sugar glue to attach the handles to the bag.
For the badge, cut out a tiny oval from thinly rolled paste. I use this set of oval plunger cutters sweetiedarlingc...
Then indent the pattern you choose if need be and paint the badge gold. This is my go-to gold sweetiedarlingc...
You can then attach this to the bag. Chill the badge in the fridge to make moving it a little easier.
