Thank you so much for this video. I finally made a wedding cake a couple of weeks ago that I was asked to make three years ago. I watched this video several times in preparation and took your advice of using madeira cake for the base. The tips on covering a cake in fondant icing really helped me to get a professional finish with no creases. The brides were very happy with their cake. So huge thank you Gemma and Sally. xx

It's easy to make your own, actually. Some mini marshmallows and a small bit of water, microwave in 30 second increments until it gets puffy, stir in a bunch of sifted powdered sugar, then once formed, knead with your hands until it's the right consistency for your needs.

but does white chocolate ganache taste better than buttercream ?
@dallinmoravec9408 жыл бұрын
depends on your preference, they are completely separate things, one is frosting made with butter and sugar and one is just chocolate lol so just whatever you like, some people use ganache because they think it is more sturdy or they can get sharper edges, but both can be used in the same way
@acestrella936 жыл бұрын
Personally for sugar paste cake I preferred white chocolate ganache because improves also the taste, because most of the people doesn't like how the sugar paste tastes, and with the sugar of the buttercream and the sugar paste is just too sweet, so If you add de ganache you can enjoy better the whole cake not just the inside part :D well that's my opinion and my costumers :)

@CupcakeJemma8 жыл бұрын
+Kcnya Of course you can put fondant on any cake! What we're saying is that for the best results, and to minimise cracking, sinking, bulging, etc, you should choose a cake which is a bit firmer, as the softer sponge cakes, carrot cake, for example, are more likely to do all of the above.
