Dang are people rude! I never comment but for those saying this was rushed - there is a wealth of information in the blog post that, had you taken the time to look hard enough, would have answered many of the questions(complaints) below. Thanks for the FREE, very helpful, content!

Rushed? No way! Straight to the point and easy to understand. Maybe people need to learn the basics and return to this when they are ready.

And now I understand why these are so expensive. YOU MADE THIS LOOK SO EASY. However, that curved needle and that whole "deal with the sides" is super intimidating.

You can do it! It's definitely time consuming, but it's easy work. I just plopped down in front of the TV for the night and watched my shows while I worked on my other cushions.

The dacron and the "padding", are the same thing right? In the 1st part, steps, your saying "dacron" and "padding" almost as if they're two separate parts but yet are the same material being used around the foam cushion. I think, but just checking to make sure I'm not missing a layer I should be having in this project.

I am a very experienced sewist. I can't get my corners to match up. It doesn't matter how many times I clip and reclip the sides. I'm having such a hard time. I wish I'd done boxed corners instead. Zooming in to show how you sewed the corners would have been very helpful for me. I'm coming up short on my fabric on one end.
@onlinefabricstore
@onlinefabricstore 3 жыл бұрын
You could always try sewing each piece of boxing to the corresponding side and then sew the corners after the fact!

Thanks for the tutorial.. Love the look. How long did it take you to make the cushion?
@onlinefabricstore
@onlinefabricstore 3 жыл бұрын
Of course! The cushion itself didn't take more than an hour to make, so that was not bad. But the tufting does take quite some time. I would say that it probably took me close to two (maybe even three) hours to finish that up. It's pretty mundane work though so I recommend putting on a movie and just taking it slow.

Thank you for the tutorial! Is the batting necessary? Not sure if I could skip?
@amritadass4364
@amritadass4364 4 жыл бұрын
I read that the batting helps make the edges of the foam smoother and more comfortable, I also saw that it prevents long term erosion of the foam but I can't say how true that is.

I want to modify this to create a baffled comforter. Instead of tufting and stuffing with foam, I'd like to create boxes that can be attached to each other somehow. Have you seen anyone try to make a truly baffled comforter or quilt, rather than just a box stitch or a puff quilt?
@onlinefabricstore
@onlinefabricstore 3 жыл бұрын
I think I would make a baffled comforter by stuffing each section individually as I sew a grid into the blanket. It is going to take more time, but that is going to give you the cleanest look

Wow, that was rushed and unclear. The sewing part is easy. I was here for the tufted sides and had to watch several times to get the idea. Frankly I haven’t tried it yet because I don’t feel confident enough. Why? You talked to fast and moved without showing the actual technique. You appear to do beautiful work though.
