Great question Jason!! :) and thanks for the answers below, all correct! It basically makes the sauce a bit richer so that's why I love it. Some people make the Alfredo sauce without the egg so it's optional, but I think it tastes better with it in!! Hope you enjoy and thanks so much for watching!! x

Mizhershe Ehsrehzim always though Alfredo was mushroom cream pasta and carbonara is Bacon cream pasta.

Caroline artiss well I'm on a diet at the moment and I don't think I will be using cream,could I use yoghurt?or less fat cream cheese?

ah, yes this isn't a diet recipe, but a good substitution would be a low fat cream cheese, and less cheese. You could do a carbonara which is just egg yolk and cheese, and it still comes out creamy. I think yoghurt would be too bitter tasting for this pasta :) Hope that helps xx
