I really liked this idea because you have all those materials easily at home. Everyone else has you breaking out the drill, for a itty bitty hole. And then you need to find the drill bit.... The only thing I had problems with, was the pen. I broke two pens with the hammer trying to get the hole through my watch6 silicone band. I was able to get a large enough circle indentation, and poked a hole around the indentation with a push-pin. It's not the greatest, but I didn't split or crack the band in any way, and that's what I was most worried about. Plus, the new hole is so small you cannot see the tiny jagged edges anyway! lol

I don't know how did you discover this solution but maaaan that was awesome! At first I didn't believe you but after reading the comments I thought the hell with it I just try on the hiden end of one of my bands... It worked amazingly! I have an 11 cm wrist (I'm an adult) that makes every single watch bands too big! With this solution I conquered one of my biggest issues in life 😂😂😂... thank you sir For the new people wondering if it'll work or not; it'll work but your pen would be useless at the end so pick the one that you don't want to use any more....

I tried this on my silicone (not genuine) Apple watch band and it did not work. It just kept bending and breaking the pens. Also, it did not make a clean hole and the hole was too small AND, on an Apple silicone watch band, the hole is different inside.. it has a special shape that holds the 'knob' snappy thing that locks it in place. Like, a little groove around the inside of the hole, if that makes sense. ie, it's not a flat-shaped hole. Another issue is, if you are doing this hack, make sure to pull the watch band all the way around to check that it will not be doubling up on the inside once you tighten it to your new hole location. Fortunately, I tried this on my $3 silicone fake strap and not my real strap.... it still works, but it doesn't fit quite right...

do NOT use this "method"...it's terrible and will ruin your watch band potentially. just spend the 8-9 dollars on a leather/rubber hole punch tool that has multiple hole sizes and you are all set.
