Thank you for sacrificing your sanity, making and wearing a hoodie in the hot weather! I may have missed the information, but should I pay attention to the weave of the fabric? Especially for the cuffs and bottom, I have seen on bought hoodies that they become very wide.
@coralinestreet Жыл бұрын
Hahahaha, I was actually a bit lucky, because the day I filmed the result the weather was a bit colder than normal. It even rained a bit while I was filming, so I didn't overheat. Yes, you should pay attention to the weave of the fabric. In my case, since I used the same fabric for the cuffs and hem, and mine didn't stretch much, I only took in 2cm and made the center of the pattern (the bottom of the cuff/hem) smaller so it wouldn't become wider later. Buf if you plan on using a different and more stretchy fabric for the hem and cuffs, make sure to reduce the width of those pieces even more, and stretch them while you sew it to the hoodie. This way you will avoid the stretched out look later.

Lovely tutorial and the outcome is so cute❤. Do I follow these same instructions when making a hoodie for a child or are there any tweaks I need to make?
@coralinestreet9 ай бұрын
Since it's made to measure, as long as you use the childs measurements, you'll be good!
@BenjaminOlivares-l4s2 ай бұрын
also the "draw a slightly curve shape" was so wierd, because in your sleve drafting tutorials, it was all so calculated, you had A and B measuments, then you devide them by two and do stuff with thoes, then you take the french curve out and place it on there 4 seperate times, it might just be that im a beginner and i should have just chosen an easier tutorial for me but im already commited to this one and ive marked up and cut out 2m worth of baking paper...

Form fitting sleeves require more precise measurements and curves to fit properly. Oversized garments like this one do not!

great video, but i got incredibly lost during the late stages of the patern making, the alterations and when you said "the only different between the front and back panel is the neck hole" BUT before that, you said i should move the arm hole of the back panel in 0.5cm instead of 1.5cm, so is there a difference or not???, also the modifications confused me alot... alot alot, i watched the video like 10 times or something and ims till very lost
@coralinestreet2 ай бұрын
For the form fitting base, I said "The back is basically the same thing as the front, the only differences are the neckline and the armholes. Instead of lowering the neck divided by 3, just lower 4 cm. And instead of entering 1,5 cm for the curve of the armhole, enter only 0,5cm". The only differences are the neckline and the armholes. The entire structure we used previously is still the same. Now for the oversized version, thanks to the loose fit, you don't need to stress much over the shape of the armholes. They can be less curved, and they can even have the same shape. It won't make much of a difference in this case. The tighter the gargment is, the more precise you need to make it to fit you. So after altering the fit for the more oversized look, the only difference between the front and the back bodices are the necklines.

the selve modification part is so unclear bro, i lowered from the basic sleeve cut out(i followed the tutorial from the link in your bio) by the ammount i extended the sholder wich was 8cm, and then i went out from that point by 23cm wich was the arm hole opening on the front, then you say to draw a "slightly curve shape", but i saw you marked a second point under the 11cm point underneath the cap height peak point, by the way i dont know why you marked 11cm if you lowered the sholder by 10cm, is the 1cm difference significant?, anyways, the second point under the 11cm point, how much difference was that? and what was that measurment related to? was it just ease? was it calculated in regard to something, very confused

and when you said "the virtical line should be your total sleve legnth" ok that made sense, exsept the fact that you just took off the ammoutn you added onto the sholder legnth, as i added 8cm to sholder and i lowered the cap height by 8cm, am i suposed to add the 8cm again at the bottom?????

@aidaent355311 ай бұрын
Is that the size of armhole opening? Or the size you added to the head of the shoulder?
@coralinestreet10 ай бұрын
The basic sleeve pattern was made to fit a tight bodice with a smaller armhole opening. I was only using it as a guide, so you don't really need to have one. But the shape of the top of the sleeve for a loose fitted garment like this hoodie needs to be a little bit different. The curve needs to be less pronounced, almost like a straight line, even. And this top curve needs to be around the same lenght as the armhole opening of the hoodie (half of the armhole opening because I'm making the sleeve on the fold. So you can measure only the front or only the back, since they're the same on this pattern) So the extra amount I added at the right side was the amount I needed to add to the the basic sleeve block so it would have the same length as the armhole opening of the hoodie, because it's loose fitting. By the way, is it Jungkook I'm seeing as your profile picture?
