How did you make the slit for the opening in your design? I’m trying to make my own shape, but I can’t figure out the slit.

Hi, I just used the shape that I need and then put it on the space where I needed it, and then I sliced it. And then I put another shape over the lines that I didn’t want to be sliced or cut, and then welded it. I hope that makes sense..
