You don't just talk the talk, you create what was. Impressive.

Well I couldn't possibly talk about a subject that I wasn't educated in, now could I? ;) Thank you ❤️

I was initially puzzled by the title, but all became clear as you lived up to your name as History Guy. This was wonderful to watch, thank you once again. Seriously, if ever I come back to the UK I'm going to make a point of buying you a beer!

Thanks for another outstanding video. It's amazing how, without modern equipment, that helmets like this, could be made.

It's crazy to think how they did it, yeah. Any steel helmet would have been expensive, let alone a two piece welded & Brassed item like this.

Really cool to see the steps of it being made one by one as it becomes the finished article. Lots of hard work and skill. I'll enjoy wearing it going up Senlac Hill. Hopefully I haven't painted too much of a target on my head 😄

Oh my goodness, it is a thing of beauty! Good work! As much as I love seeing stunning finished items, you can't beat a process heavy documentation of the many steps it takes to make such a piece. The first grinding to shine it up looked SO SATISFYING! Thanks for sharing, I love this kind of footage. I was writing my comment on your first video of the same name that was uploaded earlier today, when it was removed, is this video the same?

Aha yes there was an issue with a segment of audio so I wanted to correct it and reupload it. This is the exact same video with the audio issue removed. Hopefully I'll have a similar video out before Christmas where I make my Handcannoniers arm harness.

Ah great, thanks for your reply. I was wondering whether to watch it again! Yes looking forward to similar videos. I love your location and history videos - they’re really interesting and supremely relaxing. But I’m a maker nerd so process videos are extra special to me!

Outstanding work. I never knew the brass look was achieved this way. Out of interest do you know anything about the appearance of Welsh soldiers more specifically the Welsh given to Simon de monfort after the treaty of pipton 1265 I'm trying to find a good source to base their appearance from but no joy as of yet. Keep up the good work

Ayy thanks! Well this is very much an experimental method. We don't know if they did that for sure! As for Evesham - I am currently learning some background history behind it. I'm aware of the Welsh influence but I haven't studied enough of it yet. Soon!

Andy - it *is* already shinier than this specifically because Nigel kept saying to blacken it instead 😂😂

Haha Will was very clear to me that I had to brass the hell out of it.
