I think his method is for time saving. He builds the counter melodies along with the primary melody. This is a smart time saver and later you can break out the parts or layer with other sounds. use the distance between major 7 and the root often or the major 3rd and perfect 4th to make dark sounding melody's and avoid some intervals that make it sound to happy
@khaaan_prod3413 жыл бұрын
Yep, the major third defines the 'happy' nature of the chord. So if you avoid that and use more 'impartial / neutral' notes like the fifth then you're going to get darker melodies. For example, in C major. - Avoid the E *unless you pair it with a chord it sounds dark on, like E minor or A minor - Avoid the F *When I make my melodies I notice I never use F - this is because it's the 4th and gives a distinct happy feel too. - Use the B *this it the 7th, and is only one note beneath C. This will create a lot of tension and hence a darker chord - Use / avoid the G *impartial, who gives a shit really.

@@shabanshabani7721 this is one things I've been struggling with. It makes my beat process so slow. I finish a beat and want to release it but then it sounds so out of balance that sometimes it takes my days to make the beat feel balanced. Please gimme a few tips.... your process of leveling? I get the "what sounds good to you" part but man ear fatigue make everything sound good to you even when in reality it sounds worse than poop. 😂😂 I swear I could make 3x more beats than I currently am if I get this right.
@shabanshabani77213 жыл бұрын
@@saahaslalwani oh yeah that's from mixing with volume all the way up, like on your headphones and shit. I used to do that but its night and day mixing in low volumes, for example when I'm done with all my sounds mixing. Eqing, all that I brings the sound volumes on the mixer down and I just mix realative start with your bass or kick first.

@@saahaslalwani another thing to note every sample is diff. Dont watch a mixing and leveling video on KZbin and do exactly db their drop or gain just do it from ear. Good luck man you got this.
