I'm so happy to be back and I thought that an easy, no-sew, upcycle was the perfect DIY to get us back in the swing of things.
In this video, I share the technique for buffing and applying the paint into the jacket in a way that will last and last but you don't have to do it to a leather jacket.
You can do this to shoes, purses, shorts even pants!
And you don't need to do this to real leather, however, make sure you aren't trying to apply this to patent or vinyl -The paint will just flake off.
I recommend doing one this coat first, and doing a test patch before you decide on a second coat.
I think that 2 coats looked perfect but each item is different and you may only need one.
TIP - When you're deciding on what color to pick, I recommend looking in your closet and seeing the statement colors that yo actually wear quite often. While this is a statement jacket, you want a color that will work well with the rest of your closet so that you get the most out of it!

I bought my sister a really expensive designer bag. . . From eBay. With all its original paperwork and dust bag. The woman selling it said she was letting it go because it was this really awkward shade of baby pink (literally so weird for an every day office style leather handbag) and I begrudgingly decided I was going to paint it. I used my airbrush but now it’s a gorgeous black bag. The best bit is because it was limited edition it has a really fun printed lining. Business on the outside. Party inside! Took a fair bit of work to get the edges neat etc, but in the end was totally worth it. 100% recommend.

Grieving both mine (left at diff x but last recent as well). Creativity works. I find staying busy and creative works wonders but also its good to leave moments to remember and grieve..and remember and smile. There is one silver lining I found (besides the obvious one) in having a remaining parent..the closeness that you will find in the parent that remains is so strong. May you and your dad be well.

I use leather paint a lot. You can use a Q tip and nail polish remover on the hardware to remove the paint. I also use Cadillac leather conditioner on my leather which is amazing.

@@bethalvarez6956 I use Angelus products that are available on Amazon, it comes in a variety of colors. I use the de-glazer first which helps the paint to adhere to the leather better. Then I paint and after it dries, I use a matte fixative. I don’t like a shiny finish, so I add a little duller to the paint prior to actually painting. Lastly, I use the Cadillac brand leather conditioner. As I said before, I use a Q Tip and the de-glazer to remove the paint off the hardware. I let the item ‘rest’ for several hours before use. All the products are made by Angelus except the Cadillac Leather Conditioner. I’ve painted lots of leather items. Hope this helps.
