That is a gorgeous looking vase, and the finish on it is just superb. Definite 10/10, I did think of marking it down a point to 9/10 just for the Chelsea FC blanket but then I thought "Well that's just being petty & cruel". After-all we all have our faults :-). Seriously though, excellent job, you're a really talented guy.

@nealtrantham48394 жыл бұрын
Were the black pieces at top and bottom stained poplar like the veneers you used to separate the pieces. New to turning and looking for ways to use less expensive woods to learn with while still having something worth keeping. If you did stain the end pieces, how did you get the consistent color so deep into the wood?
@SeanEvelegh4 жыл бұрын
HI Neal, the end pieces where ebony, and the stained poplar veneer i used inbetween each segment, was pre-stained... I brought it like that.
@nealtrantham48394 жыл бұрын
Makes sense! Last question: did you use edge banding for the veneers (non-adhesive) or did you buy it in a sheet? I would be interested in adding some to my shop supplies. If you can share the brand and where you bought it that would be very helpful.
