I work in a restaurant and one of my duties is disposing of the empty wine and liquor bottles. I have acquired quite a few limited edition, hand numbered Patron Silver bottles. They were too amazing to just toss in the dumpster. I also have a couple Gentleman Jack bottles that I love the look of. They are what gave me the idea to make lamps out of liquor bottles. Yours was, by far, the best tutorial I have come across. I can't wait to try my hand at lamp making! 😁

Thank you for sharing how to do this. I have loads of uniquely shaped bottles that I want to turn into lamps I just wasn't sure about how to get a hole drilled into the glass. This was helpful!
@speedmaster0012 жыл бұрын
You could also use a rubber grommet to plug into the hole.

I cut about an inch off a pool noodle to create a bumper for the drill. When I get to the end of the cut, the pool noodle keeps the drill from smashing in to the bottle and cracking it. The hole in the center of the pool noodle allows me to drill through it

You explained things real well. I am working on a jagermeister lamp and I think I'll need a bigger lampshade than the one you used.

I always wanted to do this ,I seen a lamp made from a bottle (I don’t think it was store bought ) and the lamp base was filled with different sea shells and it looked so great and after seeing that I have a place now to use some of my lovely shells I picked up on travels,I’m not sure what kind of bottle neck is big enough to thread shells Thur .maybe a vase with a smaller opening, gotta think on that You did a great job of the video,thank you so much

Have u ever made a lamp out of the 1.75ml bottle of patron??any idea what I can use for the top seal "the white thing "
@TinkerMakerCreator5 жыл бұрын
you can maybe make the top seal out of a piece of wood or rubber. just cut to size and glue with an epoxy for those materials

I live in Malaysia and the problem is that we cannot get the kit here (bottle lamp adaptor) There is only one company that imports one from the USA and you have to buy a transformer to go with it because the volatge is different. I though I might get one from Lazada Singapore but I don't see it in their website.

I want to do this with a Don julio 70 bottle 750 ml is the white cork washer that you put inside the your patron bottle bigger in diameter than a 25 cent quarter ? My bottle I can only for downs and nickels in it
@elijahh22584 жыл бұрын
How do you drill without causing cracks? I use a handheld power drill and as make the hole in the glass the drill bit starts getting caught and then cracks occur in the glass. Also whenever I use the diamond bit like the one you have, it rolls all around the bottle and won’t stay in place. Any tips would be appreciated!
