Yeah the FX paint don't have as high a pigment count as the Liquitex heavy body paints as an example. So I think they work well as glazes or color shifts

Super glue is much easier to control and keep the project clean. I pretty much only use contact cement if I am covering large or heavy wear areas but even then I still use super glue along the edge for clean lines.

would it not be a lot better and easier to add the aliminum foil detail before sticking it together?
@SKSProps

No because if you have to heat form any of the pieces the foam will bounce back and the tin foil details will vanish. You always want to wait until the last possible moment to add any embossing then lock it in with the Plasti dip

Wait does this also work on hardboard or cereal box’s board?

I’d think it could just actually stitch it together 👍

Love the plague doctor, and your mask looks great. Would it scale okay if I used leather?

I'm not a leather guy but I think it would work fine. Several of my leather working friends use foam as a base to make their templates because the thickness works better than paper

Question: can you use a hairdryer instead of a heat gun to heat up the foam? Thanks!
@SKSProps

No the hair dryer won’t get hot enough

Great video, can you guys tell me whats the difference between hd foam and eva foam? Thanks :-)
@SKSProps
@SKSProps 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! My HD-Foam is EVA Foam but it's specifically designed by me to be a higher density at the same shore hardness as everyone else. Which means it is easier to work with, cuts cleaner, and sands smoother. And because it's light grey you just need a pencil to mark on it no more silver sharpies.

Is superglue sufficiently strong and durable? Or should I use contact cement for the seams?
@SKSProps
@SKSProps 3 жыл бұрын
Either will work. I prefer super glue on smaller details just to keep my builds clean contact cement is good on heavy wear or large areas
