Hi! I just have a question. How do you keep your proportions right? Do you measure or weight the balls before you shape them or you just eyeball it? You make it look like it's really easy and I guess that's due to practice, but in my case I end up with parts bigger or smaller than they should be and I consume so much time trying to fix that, that my gum paste dries out. I would really appreciate your advise. I love your tutorials and your work! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!

I'm watching this in 2017, but its still an amazing tutorial. my question is (well a few) I made the fondant and it turned out great. but when I started adding the colors (gel) it started getting sticky, how do I stop it from getting sticky? as for the Tylose (sp?) powder, how much do I need to add to get it to hold its shape? or dry faster. I added it by dipping the small amount of brownish fondant into the power, but then it got sticky as I taffy pulled it, so I added a little bit of shortening to smooth it out once again. but once I started making the head the face moved as I was holding it and it looked like my character had a pulled back face where she got really thin in the cheek area and there was a huge amount of extra fondant in the back of the head. (Of course this was after I checked to see if I had enough for the head to begin with) Was the problem with me adding the tiny bit of shortening to smooth it out and keep it from getting so sticky after I added color and powder? Don't get me wrong, she looks cute but there this huge amount of extra fondant on the back of her head and if I cut it off he head will be too small. is there a way to fix this? thanks in advance.
