Wow, you nailed his sound. I wasnt expecting it to be so close. I'm relatively new to music production (about a year) and still haven't decided what genre clicks for me. Pretty Lights and Glitch Mob are two that I love and would love to sprinkle in their influences for sure but from what I've learned over the past year or so, I certainly could have chosen "easier" styles to kind of emulate while learning! Happy to have found this vid. I know its kind of old at this point but just wanted to tell you great job and thanks for posting. If you're still making vids and making music, I'd love to hear or see what you've picked up since making this!

I would recommend learning sample based boombap hip hop (there are tons of tutorials) than learn Glitch hop (there are plenty of tutorials) and finally, combine all the techniques you learned into one track (Pretty Lights, Glitch mob).

I know I commented this on the last video, however I would really like to see a DubVision style tutorial.Hope you see this!
@TeknadaMusic10 жыл бұрын
check out my old avicii style tutorial, its a very similar sound. Many of Dubvisions songs are just 4x4 dance melodies
@lambrexofficial193710 жыл бұрын
I don't think they are really that similar. DubVision melodies are often 8 bars long with tape-stop effects etc. for gaps in the melody.I mean they are the same genre, but they do it very differently.I understand however, if you don't want to do it.

LambreX Official You just explained to me what you asked a tutorial for lol

I guess, I was more after their style of melody writing.Im not very good at melodies, and thats the kind of style I want to go down.

LambreX Official House melody tip: Create a rhythm for the melody and then choose a scale and change some of the notes to notes from the scale (Not really a tip for making DubVision style music, but you said you weren´t the best at making melodies so..)

Could you make a tutorial on the lead from Knife Party - Boss Mode? I can't figure out how they achieved that sound and there's no videos about it yet.

What´s the difference between a patch and a preset?
@TeknadaMusic10 жыл бұрын
a preset is a patch that comes pre installed or factory default. A patch just means a sound in a vst, referring to in the analog days when you had to patch different synthesizers and effects together via a patch bay and patch cables for your synths
@ScarryChili10 жыл бұрын
DigitalVideoFX So you´re pretty much just saying that it´s basically the same thing, right?
@TeknadaMusic10 жыл бұрын
essentially, yes. You usually want to refrain from using presets though, unless you just use them as a template to make your own sounds
@ScarryChili10 жыл бұрын
DigitalVideoFX But why can you use patches then?
@TeknadaMusic10 жыл бұрын
ScarryChili bc patches imply that you actually designed the sound you were looking for, you go in and build sounds from scratch in synthesizers. Presets means you just go in and select a sound bc its fast and easy, no thought or skill goes into it.

What is/where did you get the last sample that you used for the end of your loop? The one that you set at the same attack as the wobble bass. Furthermore, is it possible to make a tutorial on how to make a sound similar to that one? I don't really want to have to buy a whole sample pack for one sample...

What skin are you using on your FL? It looks slightly different from the default.

I think it's an old version, or just a skin to make it look like an old version.
