I have a similar home setup, on a budget. I have an extensive background in the DJ and sound system world but fairly new to production, using Logic Pro and the MPC x Roland VR as a controller hooked up to a MTK signature 12 with a few outboard FX units. I have no guitar as I'm useless with strings. Do you offer any one to one virtual tutorials / refreshers? Not seen many specific to the reggae genre. Link up, bless

Boom 💥 It’s great to communicate with someone who appreciates and values the combination of analogue and digital production capabilities. As a DJ and sound system veteran you know what it takes to make things sounding right for the people to get into. Amazing! 🔥 It would be a pleasure to do a Zoom meeting with you to discuss where you currently are on your music production journey and find out where you want to get to. I generally do a free 30 minute Zoom call with a potential client then we can set things up from there. I have a client finishing up by the end of this month so a space on my programme will become available. message me either on Instagram or email me tuition@musictechtraining.com. I’m looking forward to meeting you virtually. Bless 🙏🏾 Duce

This video is great, so helpful. Just wondering if there are any reggae fill tutorials…been struggling to create the fills as logic doesn’t have any. Thanks!
@MTTC2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for your great feedback. Now reggae fills are some of the sweetest fills in music in my opinion. There aren’t any tutorials I know of but I might just put something together based on what you have said. I’m due to make another reggae production video so maybe I’ll add the fills element in as well. If I do I’ll be sure to give you a shout out. In the meantime I’ll suggest you take time and listen to the fills at the beginning of some of the classics and then try to copy what you hear. That’s the best way to create your own fills. Thanks once again for the comment 🙏🏾

Thanks for this amazing tutorial. So many great elements in your arrangement. I've been trying to find a kit for those fills, and this is the first time someone shows one. I can't actually find the Seventies kit though, my kit list seems to look completely different to your's. Could you point me in the right direction if you have a few mins? Thanks

Thanks a lot for the question Vincent. It is however difficult to answer as I am from an analogue background but I fully embrace the digital approach. Duce, this is fantastic - I’m blown away. Your horn arrangement really hits the spot (as does it all). Do you have experience doing that or was it just experimentation? - either way it’s quality. What is great about your work is you capture the feel and swing between the instruments; the space and interplay between sounds. I hear a lot of stuff produced on a DAW and it sounds like DAW music. Yours captures the real band/live feel which so many people miss.
@MTTC2 жыл бұрын
You are very kind for leaving such an awesome comment. Thank you so much. In answer to your question I have no formal training as a horn arranger but having grown up in church listening to vocal trios, quartets and choirs my ears became tuned to harmony from and early age. This has really helped me with writing vocal and other harmonies. Once again I really do appreciated your lovely feedback. Cheers. 😀
