Notes: Add a cord cleat to each window blind for safety. Operating cords must have a default length of 40 percent of the blind height according to Section 4.3.2 of ANSI/WCMA-2018 (previously unlimited). And a warning label must depict more graphically the strangulation hazard associated with cords (5.1).
In this video tutorial we will show you how to make your own Relaxed Roman Shade. Relaxed roman shades are functional with its signature curve which gives your window a soft casual look. This relaxed Roman Shade features a smooth front that is tailored to fall into a gentle curve with built-in fullness along the bottom of the shade, resulting in a look that's less structured and more free-flowing. While this relaxed roman shade is designed to be functional, it is primarily decorative, as folds sometime require restyling after raising. A relaxed roman shade may also be layered over a Roller Shades if desired.

The highest degree of safety will be achieved by making sure that small children are not able to access shades that utilize lift lines and it is with this caution that we offer a complete description of how to make your own Relaxed Roman Shade system.

This is so well done! The best I have seen and I own a custom drapery workroom! But don’t you get pinholes of light coming through the front from all the pins and sewing??.

Thank you so much for this excellent video. I followed your directions-used the calculator and ordered some materials from you. I love my new relaxed roman shade! It's gorgeous and looks really professional. Your directions were clear, concise, and easy to follow. And when I placed an order from you (twice!), you fulfilled it the same day and I got it that week. Many, many thanks! I couldn't have done it without you! :)

This was evidently made before a lot of child safety techniques were required. Considering it is blackout fabric, I would have pressed the sides and bottom with the liner inside the side allowances. Also as mentioned, light pin holes were not addressed. At that considered, a great looking shade. I liked the walking foot machine with the zigzag.

Great video - am making some roman shades and wonder what size and kind of lift cord you used. My panels are lined and not heavy material (polyester drape fabric with light weight lining). Thank you for your help.

Thank you for a great step by step tutorial--it is great!!! I am wondering if you have those 'pin holes of light' because of the black outlining--if not , how were you able to get around that? Thanks in advance

What the heck? HOW THE HECK?Somehow I've watched 5-6 of your videos and I'm thinking that I can make new curtains for my house. My old crappie couch that has holes in the fabric... I can make it beautiful again! I may even remodel a boat and make it gorgeous!! I have never even been on damn boat! I live in the middle of the desert! For Pete's sake! But I really want to fix one up and make it wonderful! FOR HELLS SAKE ALIVE!!! I don't even have a sewing machine!!!! But I'm really stuck on watching these videos. You guys make everything look way too easy and fun! I really love these curtains. Ooooooo I really need to this... but I think my husband would kill me dead if I bought a sewing machine instead of paying our mortgage. Heavy sigh. You guys are magnificent teachers though. I'll be saving my pennies and one of these days I'm gonna get one of those sewing machines! Then watch out world! I'll be a domestic goddess. :D

@@babymoon5282 Rude much? That comment was made years ago. I have remodeled the house since then. A home is a investment. Thanks to these videos I not only have the pride of doing it myself but also at the fraction of the cost. I am a proud penny pincher. Go take your judgmental ways and shove them up your butt.

I am a novice and I am attempting to create linen sheer relaxed roman blinds without lining. This video was great up until the whole lining was introduced and it completely confused me. I would suggest showing how to do no lining in a separate video. It would be helpful.

Can you explain 'Swag (depth as percentage of width)'. I must be confused as I would assume 25% would require 'more' fabric than 10% but it's the opposite...25% requires 'less' fabric than 10%.

Do you need to account for returns if you do an outside mount?
@SailriteDIY
@SailriteDIY 6 жыл бұрын
Making it an outside mount is easy. Simply enlarge your original width and height measurements to account for the extra size of an outside mount and follow the instructions as seen in the video.

Can you use the tape with rings instead?
@SailriteDIY

Texas Red I would not use the lift cord shroud safety tape, but rather I would use the ladder safety tape with the leech line and rings. Here is a link: www.sailrite.com/Ladder-Safety-Tape-1-4
