How do you keep the covers from being too thin/bendy? Whats the best way to strengthen them?

This is gorgeous! I have a couple of questions: so could you do a variation of this and put a persons name on it like a decal? Then a coat of epoxy over it, like the cups are done? Also, what cutter do you use? Recommend? I’m wanting to get started in this and I’m having trouble with deciding what cutter machine to get. Thank you!!
@nmobrandambassador69534 жыл бұрын
Yes - You could absolutely add a person's name and have a thin coat of epoxy over it. As for my machine - I use a Silhouette.

I love this ! what size your notebook mold and how much ml a+b you use for this mold?
@nmobrandambassador69534 жыл бұрын
There are many different sizes of notebook molds out there - It all depends on what the artist WANTS. :) As for the amount of A & B to use...I suggest filling your mold with water to determine the total amount. Then you formulate the amount of A & B specifically per your epoxy manufacturer's guidelines. :)

I really love the look of this journal, I love the idea of using stones on the covers. I've noticed a couple things about the journal cover tutorials I've watched so far and I also have a question. First, I'm pretty new to resin craft, but I've noticed most of the time, we are working bottom up and what ends up on the bottom of the mold, is usually what will be showing in the finished product, but with these journal molds, everyone seems to work with them top down - is that just to accommodate textures or is there another reason I'm missing? Also, I've noticed the molds only seem to include one cover and sometimes the rings, so what are you using for the back cover? Are you casting 2 or are you using something else for the back? Last question (I promise), how much resin is used for a cover?

It is 100% up to the artist & technique as to how you approach your mold. Once your first cover is cured, you pop it out of the mold and work on the second side. :) You could also purchase two molds if you wanted to create them at the same time. There are many different sizes of notebook molds out there - It all depends on what the artist WANTS. :) As for the amount of A & B to use...I suggest filling your mold with water to determine the total amount. Then you formulate the amount of A & B specifically per your epoxy manufacturer's guidelines. :)

What is part A and B?
@nmobrandambassador69534 жыл бұрын
Part A & Part B is referring to the two parts of the epoxy I use. The Resin and the Hardener. When mixed together per the manufacturer's guidance, the two parts combine to create the hard, shiny finish on your project once it has cured. :)

Love it! How much epoxy did you mix up? I have the mold, but haven't tried it yet.
