These half circles would be a perfect place to use some of the decorative stitches that are built into my machine. Would really add a touch of whimsy to this quilt.

I really like the new binding fabric! It's such a great idea. I might try this invisible thread as it's actually a thin polyester. They even have a smoke color for darker colored fabrics. Thanks for the tutorial, Misty!

This would make a great rag quilt, too!! Cut the fusible even smaller & instead of sewing on the edge of the 1/2 circle, sew in 1/8" to 1/4" so when it's washed it frays 😊😊 Just an idea!

It’s a matte polyester thread versus the nylon monofilament thread. Polyester does much better in the wash.

My first choice would be to make a pattern for the hourglass shape and just sew it on the top instead of doing all the half circles.
@Dbatem
@Dbatem 2 ай бұрын
Totally agree! I think this is a very large waste of fabric and doing the hourglass insert would make much more sense.

Seems like this would be stiff with 2 layers of fabric plus the fusible. Even using no fusible still leaves double fabric. Thoughts?

My question is how many washing and drying does this invisible thread last. I am not sure I would waste my time using it. Maybe for wall hanging that only gets washed minimally but not an active everyday quilt!

Hi- this is a polyester thread - not nylon, so I'm thinking it should hold up pretty well.
