Your tricks are awesome!!! I’ve made other Roman shades but your method came out perfect! The trick with the rings is one of my favorites!!

I followed your instructions and made a roman shade for my neighbor. Absolutely fantastic. I've now made 1 more, and it's beautiful . They look so much nicer than using dowels. The only thing I had a problem with was trying to use the cord lock. I'll keep at it apparently didn't have the patience, but I have 3 more to make,so I'll keep at it. Thank you for sharing your talent.

I just discovered this video as well and I was wondering why there are no dowels.....i think you need dowels. Have yet to make my shades
@jamieruliffson79082 жыл бұрын
@Odeide Leon That's why I was so excited to try this. I have a plethora of dowels in my garage. The only rod needed was the bottom. I used a steel rod. Also balancing the cords and pressing the pleats are key. My shade required 4 cords. One on each side and 2 between.

very helpful series on how to make a roman shade. I did not use ribs on my shade and it came out beautiful. I was able to follow along with both part and and two you tubes to answer any questions I had as I went along. The only thing I haven found, as of yet anyways is mounting directions. I did make it to mount above the window frame as I cant fit it under the top of my window.

I would've liked to've seen how you stapled it to the pine. The way you pointed , it looked like you stapled it to the front with the staples showing? Or, did you staple the finished shade to the back? I guess I got lost. Also, would like to've seen you mount it to the window.

Sorry for taking so long on answering you. Flat Roman shades can be angled to fit a trapezoid window however it can only function from the bottom up to the where the window starts to angle.

Hi, I enjoyed watching the video. Where can I find the roller string and the other hardware to make the Roman shades?
@lisasutton305911 жыл бұрын
Fantastic Iam about to re make existing romans for my daughters bedroom. Here in New Zealand all of our Romans have bars inserted at EVERY fold . Is this not required?. It would sure save me a lot of measuring and marking out if I don't need them , How wide can you make a blind without putting bars in at each fol. Thanks so much for this really helpful video, without the usual rambling on that you seem to get from a lot of other tutorials

good job, u make it look easy. If I don't have pulley for the strings what do you recommend another o ring?

Love your videos. Is it possible to hide the pull cord either by creating a pocket or by other means so they are not visible when pulled up? I have cats and also want to put two shades side by side in a 72" (about) wide window.
@lisalberta85129 жыл бұрын
Thanks for a great video. By the way I am wondering if this style (no ribs) would work on a 28 in wide window. In other words, is it too wide for the folds to work without dowels? Thanks!

Hello! I love your videos! You make it look so easy. I hope it really is. :-) I have a question though. I have a mid-century modern home with very wide yet short bedroom windows. 93 1/2 x 28" tall. I only want one panel for my sons room. Would that work? I'm hoping that it will because of how short the window is. I just don't think I would like how two or three panels would look on this type of window. Your input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I am using 100% blackout lining. Is it ok to steam/press the seams?
@Factorydirectdesignersworkroom2 жыл бұрын
Yes!
@debbieduchamp17072 жыл бұрын
@@Factorydirectdesignersworkroom I have read about the pin holes that let light in when you put on the rings. Is there anyway to correct this? I was wondering if I put a lining over the blackout and used some blackout tape on the lining to cover the place on the blackout where the pin holes are. I am using a floral fabric with white background. Do you think the pin holes will be a problem? Thanks!
@Factorydirectdesignersworkroom2 жыл бұрын
Pinholes are definitely a problem and it’s not just where you sew the rings on! You should only pin the blackout lining around the hems and not in the center otherwise light can pass through those holes as well! We usually make ribbed roman shades when blackout is being used, I haven’t made this video yet but it is on my to do list! Thanks for watching!!!
