How to Make a Round Serving Tray--One Board + Four Tools

I just got a new battery powered jig saw and decided to try it out to make this DIY round serving tray. Made from a single 1x8x8 board, this one board challenge project also only requires four tools (three if you get creative ;) ) to make yourself.

Leather and rope would also make nice handles!? I see the tray that could transition right into being a "port hole window" (forgive me for not knowing what the little round nautical windows are really called😇) with a few simple touches. When you're cutting circles like that, you can use a compass like jig similar to the one you used for the pencil but with your router. It'll take multiple passes to cut to full depth but you're guaranteed to have a perfect circle.
