You should build what you want to build and film what you want to film. You aren't going to please everyone, but hey, have fun with it and your passion will bring your audience.

Eric, I'm not sure about everyone but the projects aren't really what make me click your videos, I just like your attitude and enthusiasm. I've just been watching your progress and enjoying it. Do what ever you like with the videos, I hardly ever see a negative comment on here. That said, BMak may have a point, talk to Rockler, see what they have to say. Good luck with any way you go.

I think all DIY stuff, metal work, home improvement will be great. I enjoy watching your videos, I like the simplicity of some of the projects because not everyone is a pro(definitely not me) and from your videos, I see that I can actually do tthem, That's inspiring. Thanks for making these videos : )

I could be wrong, but I don't think Rockler is going to be too thrilled about you getting away from woodworking !

I'd say expand your channel. I'd certainly watch. Your numbers will tell though. If the numbers look good then keep going. Otherwise maybe look into a second channel. BTW... Hopefully that sticky velcro will hold as that saw is still sharp. I'd hate to see it fall. Maybe look at a more solid way to hang it. I know that I've used that sticky velcro and almost all fail after several months of holding something with any weight.

I just saw this was from 6 years ago. Sorry. Anyway, I'm not sure how old you are, you look very young. I think you have a brilliant mind and a vivid imagination. If you did expand your site here on You Tube, I will find it and subscribe to follow your projects. I'll be looking for some ideas, OK?

Dude, I love what u did with this clock and it looks awesome! Only one little thing I did not like was the spacing on the 12 number. And young man, expand your world and open up some doors. You are very talented and motivated, most kids now days sit in their rooms playing video games. You have been brought up the right way !

That is what I want to make for my shop. How did you overcome the larger hole in the blade than the clock mechanism? I can't find a larger clock mechanism, they're all small. Help me, please.

Nice way to recycle a saw blade in a way that keeps its form intact. I like learning how to make all kinds of things, even things I will never actually attempt to make. I like woodworking videos, but I also like home improvement, metalwork, and broader maker videos. Recently I have been getting interested in electronics project videos. I've also been following some 3D printing channels. I think it is awesome when people can use skills in different areas to solve problems or make cool things. That is the kind of maker I aspire to be one day. If you have an interest in exploring areas beyond woodworking then I think expanding your channel content may be a fine idea. However, if you feel like you have to do more than woodworking just to broaden the appeal of your channel then that may be a less optimal idea. Follow your passion and viewers may enjoy the ride.

A nice easy project and I’m with you that it means more and looks better that it came from your shop and you have used it. That’s what they call up cycling!

Do it if you desire but stick to mostly woodworking. I think you "wood" expand your audience most with home improvement videos. That's a good idea

Love the woodwork but open to whatever you want to put out there man. Keep up the good work and congrats on getting the Costco food court to sponsor this video. They "sponsor" most of my shop projects at some point too. Do whatever lights your fire and we'll probably enjoy it 👍

Its important that you enjoy what you do regardless of what anyone else thinks, you make excellent videos that are detailed enough for the everyday hobbyist. im pretty convinced that you will continue to succeed in ur channel and in life. Stay on the level my friend.

I also like to follow Steve Ramsey with wood working for mere mortals. he made a second channel for home and garden for mere mortals. i know it's more work, but you could go that route as well with keeping your wood nut channel and creating a diy nut channel.

Nicely done on the clock I need to do this right now I have no clock and sometimes that's a good thing lol. As far as the channel I say go for it yes I'm a woodworker but always a maker at heart I say do what's going to make you happy is the bottom line.

Love this clock. Now I now what to do with that old saw blade I was going to trash. Re expanding your channel. Do what you enjoy. As Mike says, some of your viewers watch you for your attitude and enthusiasm. And - don't let any of this get in the way of your school work upon which lies your future.

As long as your using wood in the project I'm OK with it. Have stopped watching channels that are too in to metal works.
