Nice build, it would be very helpful to see in video description cam parameters: bits, speeds/feeds depth etc.

Thanks for the great suggestion! 👍 Just added the main cut settings to the video description. Hope that helps - let me know if you have any other questions!

You can eliminate a step by NOT using tabs, and not having to chisel or cut them apart. Your router bit packs sawdust into the kerfs, and locks your parts into the surrounding wood. I never use tabs anymore.

Thank you for the advice! We actually use this approach for projects made with 6 to 15 mm plywood, and it works really well. However, for 18 mm and thicker materials, we haven’t yet found cut settings that consistently deliver clean surfaces without tabs. Still experimenting, though!

@@AribaboxI use cheap 1/8" compression bits from Amazon, and cut 3/4" plywood and MDF in 2 passes, at 12000 rpm and 65 ipm. And like I say, I don't use tabs anymore. Just clamps to hold the outside piece of wood, and maybe some double stick tape.

@@acerjuglans383 Thank you for sharing the cut settings! Will give it a try next time when cutting 3/4 ply! 👍

@@AribaboxYou're welcome! My settings are for plywood less dense than baltic birch. For that plywood, I would cut shallow passes, not more than 1/4" deep, with a 1/8" compression bit.

Wow, that thing looks stout! Gotta be weight-rated for at LEAST two mothers-in-law!

😂 Glad you think so! We actually designed it to handle at least four of them - talk about overbuilt! 😂

How much is plywood there?
@Aribabox2 ай бұрын
It took a little more than half a sheet of 18mm plywood, which cost me around 40 EUR. Of course, prices might vary depending on your location.

When you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail. When you have a CNC, everything looks like it can be cnc machined.
@Aribabox2 ай бұрын
Absolutely! Once you start using a CNC, it’s hard not to see the possibilities everywhere. After all, what’s the point of having one if you don’t put it to good use? 😅

how to design in vcarve pro 12 ?
@Aribabox2 ай бұрын
We're not experts on VCarve Pro 12, so we're hesitant to create a tutorial ourselves. However, there are some great resources online that might help! We'd recommend checking out the official Vectric tutorials or some of the videos by the VCarve community on KZbin.
