Why cut the back so much shorter than the front? The head is round like a ball. The hair should fall on the back in a gentle V like a horse’s tail.😢

Many clients do come in to be pampered but they can become pretty impatient that the clients in the chair before them are getting pampered. That’s why they feel that they’re at the shop all day. 😂 It’s all good though. They don’t want to be late for their appointments .

This was such a good video to watch. Particular useful for me. I live in England and i don’t live in London or near a big city where Blsck hair salons are located. I drive to London every 2 months to colour, condition, shape my natural 4b/c greying hair. Everything you used in this video i have put in my amazon basket and i hope i’ll be able to maintain a professional look in between my salon looks. I last had a silk press over a year ago. And the heat damage was severe. The hairdresser broke my natural curl bonds and my hair was weak and straightish for months. But i used the Olaplex system and no heat for 6 months. My hair has recovered well and is now healthy. I want a silk press again, but i’m going to do it myself, Following the steps you used with your first beautiful client. Wish me luck. 💕

You are absolutely right! Being a stylist/cosmetologist/beautician is back-breaking work. Your hands, neck, back and lungs take a beating. I received my beautician's license in NYC in 1977 and learned right away that I'm better suited to use my brains rather than my body to find success... But, as you stated, I LOVED what I was doing. I loved taking care of my client's hair. Very creative work...

I spent 5 and a half hours once at the salon just for a wash and style. Everyone knows you need a whole day for anything you want done. By the time she chats, nips to town, leaves you under the dryer to go to the gym, eats while doing your hair, has friends pop in to chat who may even start helping with your hair (complete strangers even if you complain) and even if you have an appointment you get pushed aside for walk ins.

I was natural as a child growing up and until I started getting kidy relaxers, my MoMA used to use the hot comb on my coarse natural hair. I am and will forever be on the creamy crack(relaxer) for the rest of my life. I have enjoyed watching you take your time with both of your clients hair and love your customer services on your clients. I am in Atlanta GA that's in training to become a Professional Cosmetologist soon and would love to see your online training/advisory in being a professional hairstylist if available. I have subscribed to your channel for ongoing notifications when you post more videos as well.

I love how she's doing this anxious to see what it will look like I was always taught that it was the back of the comb that straighten the hair not the teeth part but the heat in Florida is brutal on black folks hair you can have straight hair now and the next minute it's all rolled up.

👍Her hair is pretty. 💝 🤔😞😭I have been so traumatized by stylists cutting too much of my hair off that every time I see stylists cutting a clients hair (or what seems to be too much according to my opinion 😂) I literally start to panic.😱😫😭

I wish you were in Texas because I was looking for someone that would use a hot comb. It is not a surprise to me it helps with the silk press. I kind of figured that because presses with hot combs when I was a little girl, surely lasted longer than silk presses last now.

I watch videos and I am always in awe of your techniques . I have alopecia , I’d like to know where you are located. After 10 or more years I’m growing weary with wigs. ‘Back in the day’ stylists had little knowledge about alopecia, and less about how to style it. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thank you for sharing, something I'd like to share. Avoid layering straight out from the ears section for thin/fine hair. It will take the weight that you need for the front. Over-direct the front to the back layers to get the layers but keep the weight. Also, if you taper her nape her hairline will grow back more naturally rather than the stronger cut line. I enjoyed this thank you.

I am also a white woman, well, kinda, Cherokee blood. So proud! I love watching you, also. So many black women burn the hair and scalp with chemicals, then so many glue-ins. This lady has beautiful gray textured hair. I’m so happy she’s going to you so someone else won’t burn her scalp and hair! ❤️❤️
