Thanks for your video. Based off this and another I made a pair of these lights with some changes to be used to set out and stand themselves up vertically using 1.5" pvc, with the cord coming in from the side of the bottom end, lead weights in the bottom, filled with insulating foam, all sealed up but just in case of any future leaks.

This is so I could set them out and run them from a dock/shore.

That much light really gets the attention of all the small fry and plenty of larger predators checking out the local menu!!

@@celestehall6931 ...Probably around 30 or 40 buck the lights are cheap to order from Amazon. You just need some pipe, caps, ext cord n wire nuts👍👍

Right about the 6:00 minute mark when you hook the positive clamp to the battery you should have screamed, knocked the camera off the table amid sparks and smoke, edited in some crackling and sizzling noises (perhaps some pops too), and had the screen go totally black! It wouldn't have encouraged people to try to build this light but you'd get about a million views on the video. Just an idea. 😁

Great Video. The LED strip light you used from amazon is rated as IP65 for its waterproof rating meaning basically its rain proof and not for submersion. The submersible standard is IP68 which has two coverings to make sure the LED are waterproof and are designed for submersion. How has your light lasted? Have you used it many times? In Replies more than a year? Thanks for the straight forward video

Why don’t you use heat shrink crimp on connectors instead wire nuts

I have made these but they only last a few hours before the lights go out and stop working . Any answers to why. they are water tight, I use clear shrink on the out side.

They may not be rated for use in water, I leave a link in the description to the ones I ordered off of Amazon. Very cheap and mine have lasted well over a year I have another one I made a few years back and it still works also. Hope this helps and thank you for watching and commenting 👊

How long that battery tends to last before you have to change a new one if you're fishing a day a week for 6 months straight?
@OFFFishing
@OFFFishing 3 жыл бұрын
A good deep cycle battery should last you all night or maybe ever two night in a row but I run my green light and my 2 50 watt led flood lights that light up the boat at night. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment👊
@grandwonder5858
@grandwonder5858 3 жыл бұрын
@@OFFFishing After two nights you have to get the battery recharged? If so, do you go to Advance Auto to do it or do you recharge it yourself at home? BTW, I fish from shore only do you think a real small generator is suffice to light up that LED light since I don't think I would ever want to haul one of those heavy ass car batteries around!
@OFFFishing
@OFFFishing 3 жыл бұрын
@@grandwonder5858... lol yeah toting around a deep cycle battery would be a bitch. You could probably get away with a motorcycle battery it would prob last a couple hours anyways. The green led only draws around 10 watts ,my bigger lights I run draw 100 watts and get by all night on a deep cycle battery so yeah a lawn mower battery or motorcycle battery would prob be fine for you to use. Let me know if it works for you👊
@OFFFishing

Oh yeah and I use a 12 volt battery charger for my deep cycle batteries they get charged every time I come in from fishing lol👊

@@OFFFishing Thanks for the advice buddy! I think I'm gonna buy one of those LED lights from Aliexpress rather than make one myself and it's probably a lot cheaper that way for me since I could get a good one for under $100. Then I'm gonna ask those guys at Advance Auto to sell me a motorcycle/lawn mower battery. Thanks for the suggestions, I appreciate them very much! Earned yourself a sub!

Good video but I got some doubts, at the end what's the green light for? Does atract the bait or the crappies? Can i use a different light color? Thank you for sharing tips brother, keep the hard work!👍
@OFFFishing
@OFFFishing 4 жыл бұрын
Yes Juan I use to doubt it too i thought it was a gimmick but I'm telling you it attracts those little bugs that the shad feed on and you know what follow around the shad to eat them? Slab crappie and big ol bass ,catfish. I hate to go night fishing anymore without it. Thank you brother👊 hope you try it out
@OFFFishing
@OFFFishing 4 жыл бұрын
Oh and it says that the plankton and the bugs in water are attracted to green light for some reason but i think any color light would probably work
