Hello! Very interesting knot and simple. Can you show how you tie braid to fluorocarbon?

I had a small Jack pike about 7lb bit straight through a new freshly tied 45lb fluro carbon . Never used it since that fish probably died with my lure still attached to it

woooow, you made it look SO easy, although FG knot is far from being the simpliest of knots. I guess I will watch it in reduced speed)))))

I'm going to try 100# fluorocarbon leader where I live because there are many species in the river, one of which is pike. I'm not always trying to catch pike but I don't want them to bite off my mono line.

I'm in a very similar situation. Pike and walleye in the same areas. I'm trying 50lb flouro because the pike here are not giants, rarely over 30 inches. I'm going to tie my own worm harness spinner rigs with the 50lb flouro and test to see if the walleye will still bite.

Just use thin steeltrace

fluoro to the snap - you do two wraps around, not one

Deae Daniel what size braid do you use with 0.92mm fluorocarbon? Thank you in advance

80lb braid mate generally used for pike fishing lures up to 160g

nope, slower speed didnt help))... The starting positioning of both lines is not visible enough,

How long of leader?
@kos79413 жыл бұрын
Use 80cm-1m bud with fluoro as once a few bites it will fray, you can then cut the fray bit off and retye so a longer leader allows that

I think 70 lb is excess. I use 50 lb or .70 for pike and have never lost one. Maybe Im lucky.

So fluorocarbon has the most memory, the last knot you tied has 2 wraps and needs 2 wraps.... comon.
@christophercook7232 жыл бұрын
What does comon mean . In English there is a word "common".
@measure2ice7122 жыл бұрын
@Christopher Cook Check timestamp @1:12 the fishing "professional" stated that fluorocarbon has no memory. This is absolutely 100% incorrect. Fluorocarbon is one of the most stubborn materials because of its incredibly high coil memory from the spool. The knot he tied to finish the leader was also incorrectly described. The fishing "professional" stated it was a simple over hand knot with 1 wrap. That was also 100% incorrect and the knot requires 2 wraps to be secure. The term comon was a typo; I meant to phrase it come on. A way of expressing disappointment.

.92 what? Inch ? MM?
@niceomat2 жыл бұрын
0,92mm. In Europe we use mostly mm for Leader/Line diameter.

Your knot you tie on the snap with is terrible!!! Why not just tie a 4 turn uni????? It's super simple to tie and a lot stronger knot.
