How to make a simple paper gasket for an engine part.

I poked tiny holes on the lines i drew around the edges and slowly cut it along with a sharp blade. Thanks for the education you give everywhere you go.

That was an appropriate response to a question i once asked about gasket paper and gasket making. It might even have preceded my question! In the end i did it with a sharp blade (a few times before getting it right).

We used to tap them out against the block and used a light hammer

The current education system is blinkered - run by those who's learning style is dominated by the sit and listen approach. Not an approach which worked for our kids either.....
