Thank you for stopping by to check out my video! Let me know in the comments what you think. If you like it or find it hard to follow. I would like to create content that helps you build cool projects. Whether small projects or bigger D.I.Y builds. So, please feel free to let me know what could help make the videos better for creating these projects for yourself! Also, let me know what type of projects you'd like to make and I'll do my best to make a video to help you build it!

Great video! I wouldn't change a thing! Like Marilyn said, , I would probably use a scrap piece behind the cuts but you've probably done it so much it's not needed. And thanks for all the measurements!

Hey Alfred! Thanks for letting me know it was helpful and that you enjoyed it! I really do appreciate knowing that. Marilyn is right, I should have had a support board back there. Not only to keep my cuts true but, also for safety reasons. It never hurts to be reminded! Thanks again and Happy Holidays!

Awesome Video!! Would love more info on building the jig.
@hardshellwoodworks Жыл бұрын
Hey Anthony! I'd be happy to make a video on the jig for you and anyone else who may be interested in it. Is it the entire sled and jig you want to see built or, just the placement of the "stops" that are on the sled itself? Let me know and I can definitely do that for you! Thanks for checking out my video and hopefully you have a great weekend!

@@hardshellwoodworks The entire sled and Jig would be great! Thanks
@hardshellwoodworks Жыл бұрын
@@anthonyarmao1254 absolutely. I can do that for you! All table saws may vary slightly on the slots for the runners on the miter gauges but I can definitely get a video put together on the whole process start to finish. The process will be the same no matter what brand or model table saw you have! I’ll get to working on that here in a couple of days and hopefully get it up and running soon. Thanks and have a great day!

Yes, complete sled and jig please
@hardshellwoodworks Жыл бұрын
@@kenleidolf9222 I am working on a video that outlines the whole setup from the building of the sled to the placement of the "stops". I should have it up in a few days if everything goes well. I know Christmas is getting close so, I'll do my best to get it done for everyone! Thank you for checking out my video!

Great video, thanks. looking forward to the sled/jig video. I noticed at the end, you hade numerous variations with shelves and such. Do you have measurements for those as well?

Hey Bud! I appreciate you and you and your comment letting me know the video was helpful! I’ll have to rewatch the video to see what you’re looking at just so I k ow to give you the right information. I’m working on editing the sled/jig video now for everyone. I hope to have it out tonight. I’ll grab a couple of different trees and maybe upload a “poll” in the community tab. That way, if you see the specific tree you like, I’ll give you the exact measurements! Hope that will help!

Great video and thanks for sharing! I have been asked to build these so that they will store inside one another. I thought I saw a video on this awhile back but can't find it now. If you have any dimensions or help with this it would be much appreciated.
@hardshellwoodworks Жыл бұрын
Hey Alfred! Are you thinking like “multiple” trees inside each one? Almost like a Matryoshka doll? If you could give me a little more detail on what you’re thinking or, how many you’d like to store inside each other, I might be able to help.
@alfredamos5474 Жыл бұрын
@@hardshellwoodworks I would make a total of 3. All packing inside the largest one to save space when storing. I did make those from your video and they turned out great. Thanks for the quick reply!
@hardshellwoodworks Жыл бұрын
@@alfredamos5474 I’m glad the video was helpful and your trees turned out great. Let me see what I can do with the dimensions over the coming week and once I have something “dialed-in” I will definitely get back to you. That’s a pretty cool idea and I’ll do my best to help you figure something out! You’re welcome for the quick reply and thank you for watching and letting me know the video was able to help build the tree!

Are these measurements from the toe or the heel of the miter?
@hardshellwoodworks Жыл бұрын
All the measurements are from the toe or tip-to-tip. I do have a few illustrations of the pieces inside my “community” section of the channel. If you are able to view it, it may be helpful as well. If you have any other questions, I’d definitely be happy to help out. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment

You need to put a spacer behind the piece you are cutting or you could get a crooked cut on the pieces
@hardshellwoodworks2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marilyn. That is a great tip! It would have been wise to place a board behind the ones I was cutting in order to make sure my cuts stayed square. I'm so used to using this sled for a separate project that utilizes the grids I have drawn on it that I didn't think about that. I appreciate the advice and will make sure to use a sacrificial piece in any future video I make! Thank you for watching my video and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Seriously dodgy way to cross cut on a tablesaw. No one should attempt to cut this way. Just asking for a kickback!!
@hardshellwoodworks Жыл бұрын
You’re right about that. In hindsight, I should have had supports behind each piece as it was being cut. I do have “safety warnings” listed inside of the description to the original video of this with the sled. It is a great sled and although I have not yet had an issue, I agree with you that it could benefit from some modifications. Thanks for watching and hopefully the video was enough to provide a good starting point to the foundation of building the tree itself. I appreciate the comment and hope others read it and always work at their own comfort level as safety should always the primary focus first. Happy holidays.
