I bought several "how to" slipcover books and read them cover to cover. I was so overwhelmed I couldn't get started. Then I watched your first slipcover series. You made it look so easy! I have since slipcovered a full 3 cushion sofa using drop cloths and a hide a bed love seat using linen. They turned out great! Thank you so much for sharing your talents!!!

What do you do if your seat cushion is attached to the chair. It looks like a seperate cushion with piping etc, but all attached

I don't know if you're planning to update this video, but what would make it eminently more helpful would be if you showed us how to calculate the amount of fabric to buy. Most of us don't have old hemp sheets or similar fabric lying around. Many thanks and kindest wishes

Loving this series! Question. What about adding a covered side zipper so that the chair can have an uninterrupted full back, with ease of putting it on and taking it off? Also I was wondering if a drop cloth can be dyed for a different look other than the off white beige color it comes in? Last question I promise. Hemp sheets and or fabric, where can I find them? They look beautiful. 😊

HI! I love the way you explain every single detail. By the way, did u make the one that is behind you? That's like the one that I have in mind working on

When working with new fabric as I will be doing, do you recommend washing the fabric first in case of shrinking?
@lindadaley74695 жыл бұрын
I would definitely wash and dry it first.

Hi, Great video! You seem to be working with an endless amout of fabric. How would I measure a chair to purchase the correct amount of fabric needed.. Can't wait to get started:)

Google fabric estimator for slipcovers. Used to be in some of the big four pattern books.

I see no attention to the straight of grain, isn't that something that would tend to make the cover stretch out of place over time?

Wished you would have zoomed in on the pinning of the wing back to the front back. Also wished you had showed inserting the cording between the pinned fabric pieces and sewing and removing your horizontally placed pins. I have always worked with vertically placed pins, so that throws me. As for 'get a friend or family member to help...' What!? I only know of one friend who knows how to sew! If your mom didn't teach you, or if you didn't have the old-style Home Ec course in school then you didn't learn! No one sews!

Lots of great info but it would be nice if you turned your chair when working on the sides so we can actually see everything your doing.
