Genuinely the video ive been waiting for from literally anybody on youtube THIS IS SO HELPFUL THANK YOU

This was fire too! Loved the melodies here. Mk.gee uses lighter strings on his bari, so they get a real flubby sound due to low tension.
@RadioBluesPRАй бұрын
Really well done. The benefit of the gated verb on the gtr vs the automated approach is that having it gated will make you play differently and more dynamically. Also, welcome to the Mac side 🤣 (I honestly never understood how you could do all tha t you did in a PC world 😅)
@MakePopMusicАй бұрын
That's VERY fair, but I will also say that hardware handles dynamics much better than routing sends pre/post fader, and then hitting your compressors, etc. It's just a little convoluted in the box. Thank you! I'm so glad to be on mac.

@ 😉 You should try the Hornet. plugins 644. It’s a Tascam preamp emulator. Cheap and does the job too

I’m an 80s kid and that guitar tone totally reminds me of The Cure Fender VI bass guitar sound- not quite as chimey. Heard best on Disintegration. Can come reasonably close to the baritone sound.

Lol the plain riff at the beginning had me skeptical on its own, it sounded like Alice In Chains lmao. but it all came together nice! I do like the hack of sometimes of skipping messing with complicated send routing and just duplicating clips as needed but for the screaming reverb it’s too weird, need the dynamics interplay for it to feel 100% right to me. But it’s a good cheater move for "pretty close"

austin do u love reverb a lot? i see all your tutorials have a lot of reverb like more than general pop music i listen to. is it just for personal taste or teaching?
@MakePopMusicАй бұрын
I do like reverb but so much pop music has tonsss of reverb. For this tutorial, reverb is a huge part of the sound.
