Today we are making a Double Edged Camp Knife, this is a spear point that my wife suggested that I make. She also picked out the handle material. Tell me what y'all think about it.

A Roman soldier would be proud to brandish that spear point. I'll bet you get good edge retention tempering at 325. I have not tried 1095 at that level but I like the idea of a harder edge. Great work.

If you make a sharp 90 degree angle on that extra bevel on the spine you could use that as a magnesium rod scraper or you could use it to make fine tinder beautiful knife brother

That is a great looking blade, i could use one similar to that style when im on my daily walks in the woods with my dogs, they tend to get in trouble with wild hogs at times, so a spear point thats a lil longer would be great, lovely handle by the way.

The design reminds me of a Applegate I have. Your design is much improved. Really appreciate the broad blade. Functioning piece of art you made there....Gonna make one for myself. Hope you don't mind. My work tends to be rustic though.

Beautiful work sir, the plunge lines are amazing with all those breaks in them. I only rebuild old knives so far and really love Redwood burl with Maple burl and green liners. That being said, your knife is awesome looking, I love it.

It's Ferric Chloride, the mixture is 50/50 ferric and distilled water. I haven't made a video about the etcher yet but I will be soon.
