Before welding, the paint should have been removed. Also, rather than cut into the frame of the bike to add the hubs for the two new sets of sprockets, new pipe should have been welded onto the frame to add the hubs. Cutting the frame to weld in the hubs creates the possibility of the frame not being aligned perfectly straight afterwards, which adds structural weakness. Also, gear ratio is way too high unless you do serious biking. I used to bike 24 miles every morning (took me two hours), my legs were huge, and I doubt I would have been able to get that bike going without struggling, or starting from the top of a hill

Ride any standard race bike and you'll find it already has gear ratios higher than what you can usefully pedal. With these enormous ratios the amount of torque needed is beyond what your legs can supply so you'll actually go slower than with a lower ratio.

@@GRAYgauss Gearing absolutely helps, but it always is a trade off in power required per stroke. Eventually you're going to need so much power it simply becomes impossible. Especially since you're not just pressing 400 lbs in a second, but _every second_, thats when either fatigue kick in, the muscles can't move the load or the body can't supply enougj oxygen. For most people it's easier to press 20 lbs for 20 seconds that to press 400 even once .

@@rey_nemaattori Eh, bad numbers on my part. I was imagining squatting and that force that goes into pedalling when I go up hill. My point is that the human body can't move fast enough to pedal 20lbx20 in 1 second, but we COULD pedal 400lbs once in one second. For me, it's easier to pump more per cycle than many cycles, because I have terrible cardio but good mass/strength ratio. Bad numbers again, but that's the idea...The balance in my mind is most efficient when biased towards 20% speed and 80% max force rather than 80% speed at 20% force. Agreed with what you said on power, but for me I'm biased to feel that high speeds are more impossible than high torques. The fastest I can go isn't when I'm peddling like a demon, but when I'm taking about 5-6 seconds per foot to torque through and the entire follow-through feels like a rocket acceleration.

What would happen if someone did that, but he/she also put a big gear next to the small gear on the back axle with another chain attaching the big gear to the chain drive? Will there be both speed & torque or would one cancel the other out in the process.

Is it km/h or m/h? I pull 39km/h on my commute to work on a crowded city street. It looks like a lot of work just to pull an additional 10 km/h or so...

Believe me, you can try this but this project will be costly and requires welding experience. If you made this, it would not be very useful in places with hills and slopes upward. Here's some information: If you were to try to go up, it would require a ton of pushing power with your feet but it will not work. You will just go back down. The only suitable places are places with no hills and straight roads. It would work only if you were to get a push from someone because if you were to try to pedal, there would be a ton of friction and will make it hard to pedal when starting. Another problem is that there are no brakes, so if you go about 50 to 60 Km, you will be in big trouble. 💀 But afterall, good job~but you should try to go up a hill. I would love to see that happen 🤣 Good work!

Since there is no gear shifter belts rather than chains would be much better 🙂 Cool build was fun to watch.

i mean i can get the same 50km/h speed, with MTB mixed tires on the lowest gear and sit in an aero position but i do want to see the intial speed climb since that gear ratio would be a killer

Don't worry, as soon as he gets to a hill he gets his welding gear out and modifies the bike again!

Put a hydraulic motor where the crack is hooked to that crank or the pedals are hooked to use a small electric motor to pump hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic motor you will achieve this speed even faster because of the high torque of the hydraulic motor the electric motor will not turn the crank it will turn a hydraulic pump which will feed the hydraulic motor the speed will amaze you you will break chains and spokes it has to be done slowly. Increasing hydraulic pressure has to be done slowly try it you will be amazed.
@omarrama922 жыл бұрын
Oh Dear, oh dear Lord!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That doesn't make any sense?? The spokes breaking?? Chain breaking?? Why not use the e-motor directly but drive a hydraulic pump and motor?? You're just loosing efficiency dude.
@Mike-hr6jz2 жыл бұрын
@@omarrama92 i’ve already tried this and my bike will go uphill at 50 miles an hour because of the incredibly high torque of the hydraulics ,but it will break chains and spokes if you unleash all that torque at one time you would have to see it and you’d understand it. You also understand you and your E bikes are highly inefficient some of the highest tech geniuses of our time I’ve been working on these electric vehicles for decades the problem with electric cars is we do not have an electric grid that can service them without turning off the entire system or breaking it .and of course the other problem with the cars is what they don’t show you they do not have them race against In stock car racing why ?because if they have a collision they explode and you can’t put those fires out easily .people would die the public would be aware of how dangerous electric cars are .bikes the batteries aren’t big enough most of the cars have an energy density in their batteries that is equivalent to the transformer hanging on the telephone pole out in front of your house, if you’ve ever seen one blow up it’s not 🤩 pretty

@caiofernando2 жыл бұрын
What do you think? lol Yeah, it's very hard to pedal because it has a ridiculously high gear ratio. It's so hard that it's inefficient compared to what can be achieved with a single crank system and higher cadence.

You need to add an electric motor to assist you with your low end torque to make this more viable. Once you've got your bike running, you can just pedal away and recharge your battery at the same time.
