@@missinmtl Fan connector DC 5521 to 4Pin PWM 4 12V Power Adapter AC DC 5521 12V 3A Make sure you pick your plug EU or US then the sizes for the connections need to match. 5.5*2.1mm is basically 5521. I hope that makes sense.

Oh this vid came just in time. We're dealing with a severe heatwave now across SEA and my caridina shrimps hv been dying off recently cause of the high temps. Gonna try this out since I don't wanna fork out a few hundred for a chiller hahah.

We had a big hit a couple of weeks ago here and it' was barely spring so I jumped on making this thing. It's an absolute weapon. Basically unbeatable on value for money! Plus no messing around with crazy wiring. Plug and play!

Clever idea and nice build! Looks like it works quite well 🙂👍

It works exceptionally well 🙂 But 3 fans is overkill for this little tank. I've found 1x 120mm fan to be plenty. With 3 the evaporation can get quite big.

Instead of running it on a timer, run it on a temperature controller like an Inkbird - that way the fan stays on exactly when the tank needs it and never when it isn't - essential for heaters too!!❤
@IndoorEcosystem4 ай бұрын
@@falcolf That's the perfect solution though those timers blow out the cost a fair bit ill have to see if I can find a cheap alternative to inkbird.

I am in a place where my tropical fish tank water sits at 30-33°c. Would the cooling fan method be of any effect in bringing down temps in such an environment?
@IndoorEcosystem6 ай бұрын
It will easily bring it down a few degrees. But it will also increase evaporation so you'll need to top up the tank a lot more.

Can this thing put in a vampire crab tank
@IndoorEcosystem6 ай бұрын
Yep I mention it in the video though it's probably best to use it as an exhaust fan on a timer. If you vent too much you'll lose humidity

Oh boy, you even do reefs tank... It's a sweet dream, for me... But one that I would probably never cross, because seawater aquariums are complicated and expensive. And above all, I don't have the means to create the pool of my dreams, big enough to be able to descend into it with a scuba diving suit, like a good 3 meters long by 2 wide and 4 meters high of water... Yes I know it's totally crazy x) But i have the same idea for my fresh water tank & Vampire crabs to make just big one. P.S : Otherwise there is air conditioning but the problem is that it accelerates the evaporation of the aquarium or a "chiller group" ( i don't know if it's good translated ) , it's a machine that refresh the water on the tank .
@IndoorEcosystem5 ай бұрын
Yep! This is my first attempt at a saltwater tank and so far so good! I started a little series if you want to check it out. It wasn't all that expensive to start really. But picking up a second-hand set would be the best way to start. I always wanted a mega tank as well! But the tiny ones are pretty fun! Start with a macro algae tank and see how you go ;) Airconditioning isn't all that common over here in Europe plus running it all the time would be $$$$$$ So these little 12v fans are super good value! You still get a fair bit of evaporation though, like you said!

I have a lid on the tank 🙂You can check out my reef series videos for more info. The little open section in the middle has some window screen over it so air gets in and fish stay in.
