we share one for "brunch" after a coffee for breakfast earlier. I find it too gritty and thick for my taste so we're experimenting with more liquid. we have a NINJA, not a traditional blender, so we make less than you make to begin with and cut back powder/ground seeds, etc amounts than you. We add 4 strawberries but might throw in a couple more, not a big deal. It's a super healthy (!) smoothie and it's already become a daily meal. thanks a bunch!

Thank you for another good video. I like all the ingredients, except be aware of the chia seeds. I used to add chia seeds, but no more. I would make my smoothie to take to work and drink it a few hours later (because I intermittent fast). I ended up throwing out the drink often, because the smoothie would get gummy after a while. I finally figured out it was the chia seeds. It’s fine if you drink it all at once, I suppose, but the thought of the seeds making my stomach gummy turned me off the chia seeds altogether. I really love the mint too. I also throw in some parsley.

Thanks! Glad you're enjoying the content. I use a Breville Boss Blender (it's discontinued for a newer model called The Super Q though). A Ninja will probably work, but depends on the model., I had the original Ninja (back in ~2009) and it was just 3 stacked S-blades with no blades at the bottom; that style of blender will not work well for this (you'll have to chew still). But if the Ninja has a blade at the bottom it should get the job done. I don't recommend those "bullet" style blenders for this -- not enough power to get the greens broken down.

Hello 👋 can I use blueberries
@GeoffreyAlan3 жыл бұрын
Technically yes - any fruit will work. I’m not a fan of berries in green smoothies because the color turns gray and looks unappetizing. Berries don’t “cut” the green flavor as much either (pineapple, banana, mango, lemon) all do a better job. That said, my brother makes kale smoothies with frozen blueberries and adds Dutch process or black cocoa powder (unsweetened) for a bittersweet chocolate smoothie. Not necessarily what I’m into, but smoothies are very flexible based on your personal taste preference 😊

I have a large Cuisinart food processor. Will that work or is a high power blender better?
@GeoffreyAlan3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't recommend using a food processor for this; the S-blade will do a nice job of chopping and breaking down the greens -- but you'll have unpleasant "chewable" texture to the smoothie. You could always break it down in the food processor, then transfer to a standard blender to finish -- though I don't have the energy to clean to machines just to make a smoothie 🤣

I went to see my register dietician and she told me to pick only 1 low glycemic fruit when making smoothies. She said I can use either blackberries, blueberries or strawberries but only use 1 of them. She said no bananas because they are high in sugar! People add a lot of fruits high in sugar to take away the vegetable taste but they don’t understand that they are not drinking a healthy smoothie anymore by adding the wrong fruit in their smoothie. This is advice not from me but from an experience dietician who’s been practicing for decades. I came here for ideas but alot of videos on here add the wrong fruits!
