I did this swap on my Silverado and a fresh studded 5.3. I got a 102 mm eBay throttle body and it work great and it was cheap.

Use the ls9 fuel rail, it will keep the fuel inlet on the drivers side like stock. You will make close to 500 easily. I made 415 on my bone stock lsa swapped Silverado.

High PSI tv I did, I was debating whether to even tell you or not but even though you did a great job packing it the base broke off in shipping. I figured I could reattach it on the inside with silicone and it will be fine. I don’t own a welder of any kind. No worries, The little guy is even cooler in person.

I completed my swap and I can tell you what brackets to stay away from. Also don't use the lsa injectors, spray pattern is optimized for state ports and not cathedral. You will see kr like crazy.

High PSI tv use Olson kustom works for the bracket kit. Iv been using them on my lsa swapped truck for about 2 years now. The Tahoe will make good power.

If you dont have the "jl4" option in your RPO, the OKW (Olson Kustom Works)will work, although, you may have to modify your bend/modify your trans/power steering lines. If you want a cast aluminum option, which will look like stock and you wont have to modify anything, you can use the Holley 20-135 alternator bracket. Ls Simple offers a bracket as well, but it expensive and has less belt wrap than the other options listed above.

I'm working on my 2003 tahoe flex fuel spent 10 grand on it fixing it so far basically still stock with a bully dog Gt upgraded excost dual no header work some tuning done to it to alow for excost work.

Jeff why did you decide to go with 853 66.67 cc combustion chamber? Did you run flat top or replacement dished pistons? I know if you ran dished pistons you lost a little compression even with the 853 heads being milled 0.03". Not much compression but a little. I know the 853 do have a larger 2" intake valve verse the 862/706 4.8/5.3 heads, but those have 61.15cc combustion chambers stock. 0.03" milled ball park removes 3-4cc on LS heads. Just curious, thanks!

+Chris Topher Man, you know your stuff. The stock heads had failed and were leaking. Common problem with the 04. I had the 853s laying around and they were in good shape. The pistons are stock replacement flat tops.

Yes and early 5.7L LSI heads. They have a larger intake valve and bigger chamber to lower cylinder pressure in 5.3L when changing to flat top pistons
