I just bought my first 5.3 in May and I’ve already got an S&B cai, deleted resonator, and ported 6.2 Intake and manifold by Chuy’s performance. I was researching what would be the next step to get this beast moving quicker and this is a great launching point. Great video and delivery

06 Silverado 5.3 upgraded maf, throttle body, cold air intake, and long tube header. It doesn’t like the upgrade getting maf codes, throttle body codes, lean codes, what we’ll help with this?

D - Aftermarket headers are likely causing your code. The only real option is to get a tune that disables the codes.

got a diablosport tube on my 04 avalanche and a muffler delete. i plan on getting 2 boom tubes online to complete the truck as far as n/a (naturally aspirated) goes for my 5.3

What did the Tune cost yóu. And I'm gutting my cats. In Missouri I can get away with it.. How do I delete muffler. I've got long tube headers 2 pipes going into 1. It's sounds good and runs good for a 8 thousand pound Avalanche.👊

@@bradnichols8667 the tune itself was about $400 but after the shop worked on the exhaust they did their tune and i plan on having it retuned once im financially stable. the truck i have makes roughly 450hp and i plan on getting a few goodies worked on after getting some major components replaced

Depends. Your engine is just a big air pump. You will need to set it up to get rid of the air you pump into it. I know the concept not sure how to articulate it. Basically you can pump as much air as you want into it but it will not be any good if the engine is restricted in getting it out the backside.

supercharge...bolt on stuff is a waste of $ most times. Youre already starting with 2 less cyls You could always do a small torque cam and heads but unless you can DIY probably not worth it Put 4.11 in it

Gears, supercharger or stroke it, go small on the cam if any. Heavy truck, small engine..unless you spend lots of $ most bolt ons on any car are a waste In Ca if it doesnt have the OEM tune inc the trans its an automatic fail now. Fun is illegal here.

I enjoy listening to you. But as I find in most videos they lack substance, connective information for both sides of the equation. Power and MPG. I would like to know if I changed a 5.3 chevy 5 speed transmission to six speed and some type of turbo or charger will improve my power and more important increase MPG what about reliable? I want the before and after. All you give a shit about is power. Who gives a shit! I do not want to purchase a new 100,000.00 dollar truck and 50,000 miles later after the warrenty expires the transmission drops or engine fails. The risk is to much. I would rather purchase an older truck or SUV and invest in new transmission and type of turbo. I need to tow 3,500 pounds. What can you do to represent good options.

What you're asking for is a bit unreasonable - you want me to tell you that if you add a turbocharger you are going to lose 2.37mpg vs stock? What turbo size, what setup, how much boost are you running, what does tuning look like, what transmission and gearing do you have, what wheels and tires are you running, is it lifted, what is your driving style? If you care about MPG then performance upgrades aren't for you. And I can't spoon feed you that information based on 12 different variables that affect it. So here's the most substantive information I could possibly give you: if you add a turbocharger your MPGs will decrease, if you add a turbocharger your reliability will decrease, if you add a turbocharger your transmission lifespan will decrease, if you need to tow 3,500lbs you don't need anything other than a stock truck. You're worried about reliability and MPGs...stay stock.

We are screwed. New bills and testing can tell if it has been retuned. ANything other than the stock oem one inc trans is an automatic fail. Was just about to stroke my 5.3 when this happened. Leave it stock, not worth the hassle or get some gears.
