In this video we are learning how to make a fun Turnstile Quilt block. In future videos I will teach you how to turn this little block into a mini quilt and share my foolproof way to hang mini quilts on walls without damaging the wall! So, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to my channel if you like what you see!
In this video you learn how to sew up a 9" x 9" turnstile quilt block from beginning to end. This block is fun but can be tricky if you mix up the angles on the patchwork pieces. Feel free to pause the video to check your fabric placement to make sure you are on track to piece together a successful quilt block.
If you want to make this quilt block in a different size here is a link to an instant downloadable PDF that features 10 different sizes from 3"- 12" square: bit.ly/2haWGDf
** Here are some places where you can find my new fabric collection online:
•Sew-Mini Things: bit.ly/2gh6OWR
•Dragonfly Quiltworks: www.dragonflyquiltworks.com/et...
You can also contact your local quilt shop and inquire about the collection. It is called Dominicana by Vanessa Vargas Wilson fro Timeless Treasures Fabrics.
If you make this quilt block snap pictures and post it to my facebook page: / craftygemini or tag me on Instagram using the hashtag #craftygemini. You can also find me on Instagram under @craftygemini.
Thanks for watching and see you soon with another video!

Those fabrics look sooooo pretty together. The peachy orange and the confetti. Also the Aqua and Orange look great together too. I'd love to see these in a quilt. :-)

Awesome tutorial. I love to starch also! It makes the fabric SOOOO much nicer to work with. AND one of the other reasons is that the fabric shrinks up. You have the perfect shot illustrating that in this video. When you initially sprayed starch on the confetti fabric, you could see it shrink up before your very eyes, WHICH I kind of love...because I have also noticed less issues with shrinking in the wash when I starch first. Which is the long way to say I love starch too, lol. =)

I like the block but I think there are way faster and easier ways to make the quarter square triangles than what is shown here. Probably good to warn about all the bias in the cuts once you cut the triangles. Starch (or Sizing) helps but pretty easy to warp fabric if you don't know how to handle bias edges.

Vanessa wasn't that the 3/4 mark? The 3/8" would be just shy of 1/2" which is 4/8th...

While I like the pattern, Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Col, has a much easier way to do these blocks.
